Evening & Weekend Undergraduate Programs

Overview
In 1967 Chaminade University began offering accelerated evening and weekend
programs for members of the armed forces, their family members and other working
adults wishing to seek degrees or take courses of interest. Accelerated courses
are offered in four semesters beginning January, April, July and October.
Each semester is 10 weeks long. Selected courses are offered during intensive
sessions between the 10-week semesters. Since 1996 a large selection of on-line
classes are also available.

Locations
Courses are offered at Camp H. M. Smith, Hickam Air Force Base, Kaneohe Marine
Corps Base Hawaii, Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Schofield Barracks, Tripler
Army Medical Center, Sand Island Coast Guard and Kapolei. Nonmilitary students may attend Chaminade
University courses on military installations, with the exception of Pearl
Harbor
and Hickam AFB, at
this time on a space available basis. Classes are also offered at Holy Family
Catholic Academy near the airport, St. John Apostle & Evangelist Church
in Mililani, St. John Vianney School in Kailua, Star of the Sea School
in Kahala, St. Joseph's School in Waipahu, St. Ann's in Kaneohe and Island Pacific Academy in Kapolei.

A fee of $25.00 must be mailed in, paid by credit card or paid at the time
of first registration. A high school transcript or GED certificate
is required if the student has less than 24 semester hours of college credit.
All college transcripts should be sent to Chaminade University once an application
has been completed.
Transfer Credit
Transfer credit from accredited colleges or universities may be accepted for
prior college work. Students who are serving, or who have served in the armed
forces of the United States, may be granted college credit for military training
evaluated by the American Council on Education. Such credit is limited to
30 semester hours. Students may receive credit for CLEP and DANTES examinations,
provided the subject matter of the exam has not been covered by a prior course.
A maximum of 30 semester hours of credit may be granted. CLEP general examinations
must be taken prior to completing the first year of study. To schedule an

Tuition Rates
Current tuition rates for classes in the Evening & Weekend Undergraduate Programs
are $131.00 per semester hour for lower division courses (100 and 200
level)
and $184.00 per semester hour for upper division courses (300 and 400 level).
A technology fee of $17/semester hour is charged for all online courses.
Family Discount
Second and subsequent immediate family members concurrently enrolled in Accelerated
Undergraduate Programs receive a 25% tuition discount.
Servicemembers Opportunities
Colleges (SOC)
Chaminade University is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges
(SOC), sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities
(AASCU) and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Service
men and women and their family members have the opportunity of beginning or
continuing their education at Chaminade University. Formal learning contracts
for completion of degree programs listed above are available to students who
complete residency requirements. SOC students transferring to another duty
station will be allowed to complete remaining requirements on-line with Chaminade
University, if the required courses are available, or at other regionally
accredited institutions.
Term Dates
Terms dates
for 2008 are the winter term from January to March, and the spring term
from April to June. Registration begins five weeks prior to the start of the
