How to get a U-PASS:

STUDENTS: Each semester a free U-PASS is available to all Honolulu campus full-time enrolled day undergraduate students (new and returning), as well as day (but not evening) graduate students. To obtain the free Bus Pass each semester, the student must go to the Business Office and present a valid CUH ID (with a current semester sticker). IDs may be validated at Client Services in Room 101 located at the lower street level of the Sullivan Library. The bus passes will be available until the last business day in August for the Fall Semester and the last business day in January for the Spring Semester. Summer bus passes are available for a fee. All prior student account balances must be paid in order to be eligible to receive a U-PASS.

STAFF & FACULTY: Regularly scheduled full-time Chaminade University employees are also eligible for the same complementary U-PASS by presenting their employee ID card at the Business Office in January and August. Chaminade employees can obtain an ID card at Client Services, located in Room 101 of the Sullivan Family Library (2nd Road street level). The deadline for receiving a U-PASS is the last business day in January for the Spring Semester, and the last business day in August for the Fall Semester. Note: Summer bus passes will be available for a fee. See additional details below.

Why the free pass? The free pass is part of a program developed by Chaminade University and TheBus in order to promote environmental sustainability with mass transit and reduce heavy daytime rush-hour traffic congestion in the Waialae Avenue corridor through Kaimuki.

More green details: A Chaminade Energy Study in 2008 disclosed that the second largest source of carbon emissions within the control of the University was attributable to students and staff commuting to campus. The campus commute produced estimated carbon emissions of 1,350 metric tons, or 28% of total greenhouse gas emissions. Funding for this project will be provided through other energy conservation efforts at the University.

Semester expiration dates: U-PASS will be valid through the following dates for semesters listed below:
