Retreats

One of the ways Campus Ministry strengthens the Chaminade community is through our retreat opportunities. Though each differs in approach, Campus Ministry retreats seek to promote the Marianist values of faith and service.

What Are Retreats?

We offer students opportunities to take time off from the “real world” to develop their faith and to build and nurture a faith community with their peers on and off campus. Retreats include presentations by peers on various topics, followed by personal reflection and small and large group discussions. There are nominal fees associated with each retreat. Take a look at our calendar or contact us to get more information.

New Student Retreat

The New Student Retreat gives incoming students the chance to make new friends, learn about Chaminade, and familiarize themselves with Campus Ministry services and programs. New students are invited to spend the night at the Marianist beach house, “Hale Nalomeli,” where they can meet one another and some of Chaminade's finest active upper classmen and women. Activities include: presentations, small group sharing, swimming, and more.

Awakening Retreat

Awakening is a powerful, three-day weekend retreat offered by Campus Ministry to all Chaminade students. The retreat, though Catholic in nature, is open to people of different denominations and faiths who wish to discover the Christian message of hope and love.

The retreat invites our participants to experience God’s unconditional love through a variety of activities including: prayer, songs, fellowship, and discussion.

It is a great opportunity for students to foster new friendships and to share their lives with one another. The retreat is facilitated by currently enrolled university/college students who have attended an Awakening Retreat. Participants experience and enjoy the gifts and talents of their peers/student leaders throughout the weekend.

Leadership Retreat

Campus Ministry welcomes new students into the Chaminade ‘Ohana through the Leadership Retreat, an overnight activity where new students participate in open discussions about their faith and traditions and explore the meaning and importance of leadership. It is a great opportunity to build relationships as we journey together to the God who loves us unconditionally.

Men's Retreat

The Men's Retreat is an evening event developed by men, for men. Open to all men on campus, the Men's Retreat focuses on the struggles and successes of male spiritual figures and how we their lessons have tremendous relevance today's culture.

Women's Retreat

The Women's Retreat is an evening retreat developed by women, for women. All women on campus are invited to join us to discuss the spiritual richness of the feminine and its gift to the world.
