Campus Ministry

Feeding the Hungry is a monthly commitment that Campus Ministry makes to help minister to the homeless community in the downtown Honolulu area. We prepare all our meals the day of the service and then head down to St. Andrew’s and serve them to the community there. We will also be working with youth from a local Korean Baptist Church as we serve the homeless together. Meet at Hale Malia at 11am

Beach Clean-Up is an environmental service to help maintain a section of a beach that Chaminade University has adopted. Students will have a chance to appreciate the beauty of God’s creations while at the same time having fun in the sun and water! On alternating 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 10am - 4pm Meet at the Mystical Rose Oratory at 10:00am

Kokua (help) at `Anuenue school and lo`i (taro patch). Help maintain Palolo stream, the lo`i next to `Anuenue school, and work with Kupuna (elders), Kumu (teachers), and haumana (students) from the Hawaiian immersion school. Learn about gardening, land stewardship, and resource management from the Hawaiian perspective. Two hour excursions will be arranged for groups or individuals. M-F (8-12 a.m. or 1-3 p.m.).

Restore He`eia Fishpond and experience your own restoration, by connecting with others and reconnecting with the `aina (land). Ancient fishponds of Hawai`i have been some of the most significant and productive aquacultural achievements in history and today most lie buried or in various states of disrepair. On alternating 2nd and 4th Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Come and learn about Hawaiian protocol and values, fishpond construction and maintenance through projects like collecting invasive limu (seaweed) and replacing it with native types, cutting down mangroves, and reconstruction of the fishpond walls. Meet at Mystical Rose Oratory at 8am
