Computer Information Systems (CIS)

Computer Information Systems 4-Year Degree Program

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program trains you in the theory and practice of computers and business, to prepare for a professional career in information or communication systems, or for graduate school. The CIS major focuses on personal competencies in computing and business.

Work in information systems encompasses two broad areas:

  1. Acquisition, deployment, and management of information technology resources and services.
  2. Development and evolution of technology infrastructures and systems for use in organizational processes.

(Note: many schools use IS for information systems versus CIS).
