Federal Student Loan Program

Most graduate students at Chaminade finance their education through the Federal Student Loan system. Contact the University Financial Aid Office for more information on financial assistance.

Chaminade University Scholarships

The following is a list of some of the CUH scholarships available for graduate students:

Educational Foundation Trustee Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who have Hawaii residency, maintain a GPA of 3.25 and above, participate in community service, and meet several other eligibility requirements. For more information about this scholarship please check with the Financial Aid Office.

John Young Scholarship
For those planning careers in art education including fine, applied, and performing arts. For more information contact the Office of Institutional Advancement or the Education Division Office.

Early Childhood Education (ECE) Castle Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to any Chaminade student working towards an early childhood education degree. The student must be an early childhood educator serving low income population and have been in the field for at least one year.  The student must be in good standing: A grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5.

Hawaii-Based Graduate Student Scholarship Sources

Aiea General Hospital Association Scholarship
Aiea General Hospital closed its doors in 1993. With the Hospital's remaining assets, its Board of Directors established a trust in 1985 as an expression of gratitude to area residents for their many years of support.

American Business Women's Association
One scholarship available to a woman who is returning to education after having taken time off to work, raise a family, or for any other reason.

Hawaii Community Foundation
The Hawaii Community Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to individuals who are residents of Hawaii, demonstrate financial need, and meet several other eligibility requirements. This foundation also offers scholarships for specific ethnic groups and geographic areas.

Hawaii National Guard Scholarship Program

Hawaii Education Association Scholarships
The HEA offers two scholarships of $3,000 each to students enrolled in a past-baccalaureate teaching program. Ask at the Education Division Office or contact the HEA directly at 808-949-6657.

Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate Scholarships
Scholarships available for students of Hawaiian descent either graduate and non-graduates of Kamehameha Schools.

PATCH Early Childhood Education Scholarhip
Scholarships available for students taking early childhood education courses, conversion of PACE classes to college credits, or applying for CDA certificate.  Please visit www.patchhawaii.org for additional information.

Kappa Kappa Iota
This professional organization for educators promotes the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. KKI offer scholarships to their members for certification and improvement.

Nellie Mae Student Loans
You can apply online or over the phone. Loans are designed for graduate and professional students, undergraduates and parents. There are 14 different types of student loans.

Pi Lambda Theta Scholarships
Various scholarships for those who are members of this national honor society.

Post-Graduate Scholarships
Each year, three memorial scholarships, named for Rose Cassin, Doreen Brady, and Father J. Harold Conway, may be awarded to members for full-time post-graduate study. Each is valued at up to $10,000. Further information regarding scholarships may be obtained by writing to the provincial office. Deadline for application is April 1.
