The Pacific American Foundation’s (PAF) Aloha ‘Āina has been integrated as the place-based component of the Pua Lililehua Project. By incorporating this hands-on experience, students and teachers will spend instructional time out of the classroom visiting PAF approved sites.
The standards-based instruction of Hawai‘i Content and Performance Standards III blends perfectly with lessons of malama ‘aina (to protect the land), encouraging students to respect and appreciate the land, as they focus on Science and Social Studies units.
PAF's Wetlands and Ahupua‘a modules have successfully paved the way for the Pua Lililehua Project to develop modules for Kindergarten through second grade.
