ADJUNCT FACULTY

Chaminade University seeks an adjunct lecturer in Chemistry, to teach 2 sections of a nursing chemistry course in the day undergraduate program. This lecture-based course prepares undergraduates in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) for further study in pharmacology, pathophysiology and for standardized test performance in support of nursing licensure. The School of Nursing is currently seeking clinical adjunct faculty in the areas of pediatric, medical-surgical, and maternity. The Environmental + Interior Design program is seeking a REVIT-proficient individual to teach EID 319 Advanced CAD-Intro to Revit. Candidate must be an excellent communicator with experience using AutoDesk products and Revit, in particular. Understanding of construction documentation is required. Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree with sufficient work experience/expertise minimum requirement. This course is currently scheduled to meet in the evenings (T/TH) from 6:00pm - 8:50pm. ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

The Psychology Department of Chaminade University of Honolulu­ invites applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor tenure track position beginning August 2017.  The candidate must have (1) a doctoral degree in psychology, counseling or closely related field, (2) a minimum of 2 years as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  This position requires the faculty member to teach half time in the undergraduate day Psychology program and to teach half time in the Master’s in Counseling Psychology evening program.  The master’s component also incorporates the position of Clinical Director of the Marriage and Family Counseling emphasis.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (SCHOOL OF NURSING)

Chaminade University of Honolulu is currently seeking Assistant Professors for two employment opportunities in the School of Nursing program.  This non-tenure Assistant Professor in nursing position at Chaminade University of Honolulu reports to the Dean, School of Nursing.  The responsibilities of this position comprise teaching courses in the undergraduate program.  As a faculty member, the Assistant Professor is expected to actively participate in the scholarship of teaching, community service, and the process of curriculum assessment, development, implementation, evaluation and accreditation.

Minimum Education: 

  • RN licensure in the State of Hawaii. 
  • An earned Masters in Nursing (MSN).

Minimum Experience:

  • Teaching experience using a variety of modalities in the classroom, simulation, online, continuing education, and clinical practice (in a School of Nursing).
  • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students.
  • Competency in the scholarship of teaching and ongoing professional development in nursing education.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as an educator, including development and use of simulation as a teaching modality.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity including research in education or an area of specialization.

Preferred:

  • An earned Doctorate in Nursing (PhD, DNP).
  • Certification for Nurse Educators.

SITE ASSISTANT TO OFF-CAMPUS PROGRAM COORDINATOR – Schofield Barracks

This position reports to the Off-Campus Program Coordinator and is responsible for supporting the respective Off-Campus Program Coordinator and assisting in the daily activities of the office.

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a responsible, organized, personable individual with a clear audible voice and excellent communication skills for assisting in the daily clerical activities of the office; must be detailed oriented; accurate data input and retrieval required.  The office is located on Schofield Barracks.  Familiarity with data base systems is helpful.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working in a university setting and knowledge of organizational structure preferred.

SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS / EVENTS MANAGER

This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the staffing and operation of the Carlson Fitness Center, as well as reporting progress and needs to the Director. The Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics will assist the Athletics Director in various special projects and oversee the Event Management tasks at home games and the hiring and training of student workers at events.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with diverse populations. Must have strong organizational and analytical skills.  Must possess effective interpersonal skills and the capacity to manage, lead, and supervise student workers. Proficiency in Microsoft programs with the ability to learn University system software.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience:

  • One year of administrative management, preferably in intercollegiate sports program. 
  • Interscholastic and community recreation management experience may be taken into consideration.
