The Environmental + Interior Design program is seeking a REVIT-proficient individual to teach EID 319 Advanced CAD-Intro to Revit. Candidate must be an excellent communicator with experience using AutoDesk products and Revit, in particular. Understanding of construction documentation is required. ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

Assist the Head Athletic Trainer to develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for Chaminade University athletics department including injury prevention, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes and coaches.  Perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.

Applicants will be required to become familiar with Chaminade University policies, NCAA rules pertaining to institutional control, and the Pacific West Conference, and NCAA Division II, and the NATABOC philosophies.  Person must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes the pursuit of excellence in both academics and athletics.

Education:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (SCHOOL OF NURSING)

Chaminade University of Honolulu is currently seeking Assistant Professors for two employment opportunities in the School of Nursing program.  This non-tenure Assistant Professor in nursing position at Chaminade University of Honolulu reports to the Dean, School of Nursing.  The responsibilities of this position comprise teaching courses in the undergraduate program.  As a faculty member, the Assistant Professor is expected to actively participate in the scholarship of teaching, community service, and the process of curriculum assessment, development, implementation, evaluation and accreditation.

Minimum Education: 

  • RN licensure in the State of Hawaii. 
  • An earned Masters in Nursing (MSN).

Minimum Experience:

  • Teaching experience using a variety of modalities in the classroom, simulation, online, continuing education, and clinical practice (in a School of Nursing).
  • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students.
  • Competency in the scholarship of teaching and ongoing professional development in nursing education.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CRIMINOLOGY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT

The responsibilities of this position comprise of teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program.  This successful candidate teaching duties will be focused primarily within the Masters of Criminal Justice Administration and Forensic Laboratory Management degree.  As a faculty member, the Assistant Professor is expected to participate actively in curriculum development and assessment, to advise students, serve on university and area committees, perform all duties professionally and ethically, and support the policies and mission of the University. In addition, the Assistant Professor is required to contribute and produce scholarship and continue professional development as a faculty member.

Education:

  • Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Criminology, Sociology, or the Behavioral Sciences required. 
  • A Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Criminal Justice or Forensic Science is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant law enforcement experience.
  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs and Google applications; ability to use copy machine, fax machine, telephone. 
  • Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, climb a lot of stairs, have excellent motor skills and be able to sit or stand for 30 minutes at a time.  Must have finger dexterity.  

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

The Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for recruiting and activities related to the increase of enrollment for the day undergraduate program, and holds supervisory and management responsibilities. The duties associated with this position may require the Associate Director to work up to 55 hours per week during recruiting trips, fairs, on and off-campus enrollment functions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.  

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work with and relate to diverse groups of people as well as being able to speak in front of groups.

CAMPUS MINISTER

The Campus Minister will provide pastoral ministry to the Chaminade community with a particular focus on undergraduate students. This individual will serve as a member of the Campus Ministry team to offer programs which are consistent with the Catholic and Marianist identity of the university.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.  Master’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Significant previous experience in effectively coordinating and executing Catholic Christian ministry programs for college students, instructing and training peer leaders, and building positive working relationships with colleagues and students.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT FOR RETENTION, ADVISING, AND CAREER PREPARATION

As a member of the Office of Retention, Advising, and Career Preparation, the Graduate Assistant engages undergraduate students in promoting their academic, professional, and overall development from their orientation through graduation. Under the supervision of the Director of Retention, Advising, and Career Preparation, this position assists with the development and implementation of student-centered programs and initiatives that enhance the academic/career/personal success of students. Special emphasis will be placed on orientation and peer leadership activities that ensure the success of students new to the university.   This position also has administrative responsibilities that run in conjunction with these efforts, and other duties as assigned by the Director.

  • Admission to and enrollment in a Master’s degree program at Chaminade University.

INSTUCTIONAL DESIGNER

The Instructional Designer of the Faculty Center provides instructional design expertise to support innovative course delivery including the development, structuring and editing of learning materials and assessment tools to help create and manage course improvement, using faculty development as a foundation to implement new teaching and assessment methodologies.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, education administration or a related field from an accredited university.

Experience and Skills:

  • At least one year experience working in a Center for Teaching & Learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with faculty.
  • Ability and skills to work collaboratively with faculty members.
  • Experience in building productive relationships to support program.
  • Experience in the design of instructional materials, interactive experiences and assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience within a learning management system (Canvas preferred).

LECTURER OF FORENSIC SCIENCES

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a full-time Lecturer in the area of forensic sciences, to include instruction in crime scene investigation and physical forensic sciences, and over sight of laboratory and simulation facilities for Forensic Sciences to begin 15 August 2017.

Education:

M.S. or terminal degree in forensic sciences or related field from an accredited institution is required. 

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in an investigative setting, including crime scene and/or medicolegal death investigation.
  • Must be computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, learning management systems, and graphic programs. 
  • Forensic science experience on an international scale, particularly in regions of the Pacific Rim desirable. 

POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER

Chaminade University of Honolulu seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work in the research laboratory to study the mechanisms of the weakening of the human fetal membranes. The successful candidate will be have excellent computer skills that include Microsoft Office, Excel, and have a familiarity with search engines such as NCBI and PubMed.  Competence in common statistical analyses and experience in preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals are required.  Laboratory skills must include molecular biology and basic protein biochemistry. The Post-Doctoral Researcher performs research leading to publication of peer-reviewed papers on topics aligned with the research interest of the Natural Sciences and Math faculty.  This position is 100% grant funded through the end of April 2018. 

Education:

Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in Biological Sciences is required. 

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have experience in a laboratory research setting.
  • Able to perform skilled laboratory procedures, tests, and analyses.
  • Provides project leadership and independent supervision of technical and undergraduate staff as directed.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts library and computer searches for research data.
  • Oversees all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of Chaminade University of Honolulu.
  • Previous experience in placental and fetal membrane biology preferred. 

TECHNICIAN

This position reports to the Director of Client Services and is responsible for providing walk-in technology services and AV equipment support/operation for on/off campus activities to the Chaminade community.  The Technician coordinates with other members of Information Technologies and Support to maximize the efficiency and availability of services offered, including access to educational technology in classrooms, to online education, and to administrative functions inherent in the ERP.  Also performs non walk-in services when time is available.

Minimum Education / Experience:

  • An associate degree form an accredited institution or 3 years customer service experience in an educational environment. 
  • Experience providing assistance to students, faculty and staff in a research or educational institution.

General:

  • Requires a high degree of technical competence along with the ability to interact positively with students, faculty and staff who possess a wide range of educational backgrounds and technical competence.
  • Strong communications and diplomatic skills are essential, along with discretion when working with sensitive information. 
  • Excellent English language skills and customer-oriented a must.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include weekend and evening hours.

Technical Skills:

  • Broad knowledge of technology.
