The financial aid program at Chaminade University is comprised of funding from these three types of sources:
We encourage all students to apply for aid, as you don't know what you might be eligible for until you do apply.
Please complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the FAFSA. By filing this one form, you will be applying for all federal forms of assistance, as well as many institutional and external sources of aid.
Returning students should file a FAFSA each year.
Chaminade University participates in all of the major federal student aid programs.
The federal financial aid programs were designed to help you. Federal programs assist millions of Americans to gain a college education that otherwise may be unattainable.

Chaminade institutional aid is only available for students enrolled in the campus undergraduate program (A.E.O.P. students are not eligible.)
Institutional Aid comes in the form of scholarships and grants provided by Chaminade University. These include merit scholarships, athletic scholarships, Catholic scholarships, endowed scholarships and other awards. 96% of our students receive some form of funds from Chaminade. Scholarship funds may significantly offset the cost of your tuition.
You should always pay attention to what it will actually cost you to attend Chaminade after you receive your financial aid offer, which will list your scholarships from Chaminade. We recommend that incoming students spend some time to fill out the Financial Aid Estimator form, to get a better idea of the true cost of attending Chaminade.

External aid refers to various grants, scholarships and loans that students apply for and receive through external agencies or organizations. External scholarships are yet another way students can offset the costs of college and reduce their debt.
You will need to ask advisors, research on the web and at libraries, and check with organizations you may have connections with to find those pockets of scholarship opportunities that may enable you to secure funds that you can bring with you to Chaminade.
Please keep in mind, as is the case at any college or university, if you are awarded a scholarship from an external source we will have to reduce your award offer by the amount you receive through your outside source. We would first take back our loan recommendations and (if we have to) any work opportunities, and will not reduce any of our grants or scholarships.
