Students will learn and apply a variety of teaching strategies to develop literacy with children enrolled in a Palolo Elementary School summer program. The blend of daily field work followed by in-class explorations provides a rich learning experience for educators in a wide range of settings.

This course focuses on instructional models for elementary students who need one-to-one assistance in developing literacy skills including vocabulary, fluency, reading comprehension and writing. Participants will work with students daily in a supervised practicum.
