Checklist for Spring 2011

February 21 – March 4, 2011

  • CLEAR ALL FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS: Check with the Business Office to determine if you have any outstanding financial obligations. You must be cleared by the Business Office in order to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
  • BE FITTED FOR CAP AND GOWN. Fittings for the cap and gown will take place at the Campus Bookstore during the week of Monday, February 21 to Friday, March 4. Any orders after March 4, 2011 will be charged a $20.00 late fee to cover single order fees and shipping charges.

AT THE BOOKSTORE, you may be interested in:

  • ANNOUNCEMENTS: Each graduate will receive 10 announcements free. Additional announcements will cost $2.15 each.
  • PERSONALIZED NAME CARDS: Check with the Bookstore for more information. Cost will be $15.00 per 50 name cards.
  • CLASS RING: Representatives from Herff Jones will be available during the week of cap and gown fitting. A deposit of $50 is required with your order. The balance is due when you pick up the ring (approximately 10-12 weeks after order).

Week of April 18, 2011

GRADUATION REGALIA.

  • Pick up your graduation ensemble at the bookstore. Your order should include:
  • Cap, gown, and tassel
  • A white collar (only for women graduating with a bachelor’s degree).
  • Honors Cord (only for those graduating with honors)
  • *Please note that graduation regalia will NOT be issued at the Blaisdell Arena on commencement night.

INFORMATION CARD

  • Issued at the Bookstore. Fill out the card and leave it with a representative of the Bookstore. Please print your name clearly as it will be used to read your name at graduation. The card will be returned to you when you check-in for rehearsal the day of the ceremony. Your seating assignment will be on the card.

Thursday, April 28 or Saturday, April 30

  • INFORMATIONAL MEETING: Two informational meetings will be held a week prior to the ceremony. You only need to attend one: Thursday, April 28 at 12:00 pm in the Loo Student Center or Saturday, April 30 at 9:00 am in the Ching Conference Center in Eiben Hall. Representatives from Chaminade’s commencement committee, Career Services and Alumni Relations will be there to answer your questions.

BACCALAUREATE MASS AND THE HONORS CEREMONY: Mamiya Theater

  • 2:00 PM - Baccalaureate Mass (an optional religious service) Light refreshments will follow.
  • 3:30 PM - Honors Ceremony – A celebration for those graduating with honors.

Monday, May 9, 2011

MANDATORY REHEARSAL at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena will be held prior to the ceremony.

  • 3:00-4:00p.m. CHECK-IN at the Exhibition Hall and receive your seating assignment
  • 4:30p.m. REHEARSAL - We will rehearse the ceremony procession and your line-up.
  • 6:00 PM Arena doors open for elderly and disabled guests.
  • 6:15 PM Arena doors open for general seating. All seating is on a first come, first served basis.

*Please inform your family and friends that the Blaisdell Center does NOT allow BALLOONS, SIGNS, or Horns inside the Arena.
