Pre-Health Sciences: Overview

Exceptional Preparation

Chaminade’s pre-health sciences program gives students exceptional preparation to pursue a career in health sciences.

Core Curriculum

Around a core biology-centered curriculum, we design coursework to meet the requirements of the student's chosen specialty. We can prepare a student for numerous careers. Popular progressions at Chaminade are pre-med and pre-graduate studies in research. We will offer a nursing program anticipated to begn in the fall of 2010.

Pre-Med

If a student is pre-med, we will tailor the student's coursework and internships to meet the requirements of the student's targeted medical school. We also provide assistance for students preparing for MCAT/GRE. More about the pre-med track

Faculty Involvement

Faculty involvement: Classes are small at Chaminade, with a student-to-faculty ratio of about 17:1. No class is larger than 45. Students have ample opportunity for individual attention. Everybody gets to know everybody on campus. We get to know our pre-health sciences students very well, and we are there for them every step of the way. We try to assess the student's strengths, and help them choose a career path appropriate to their capabilities and potential.

National Recognition

Our students thrive with this positive attention and opportunity. This program has garnered the praise of student participants and medical school administrators across the country. Undergraduates have co-authored published papers, made presentations at national research conferences, or have received other notable awards. More about students
