Pre-Med Seminar:
Incoming first-year Chaminade students who indicate an interest in pre-med or other pre-health preparation (such as dentistry) are enrolled in a special first-year seminar. Throughout the seminar, students explore career requirements, career options, and special programs available at Chaminade. The seminar includes guest speakers, presentations, and group projects as well as monthly individual meetings with a designated pre-health advisor.

We have dedicated faculty advisors who work closely with our students who have indicated a pre-med track. We:
Students who have graduated from our biology and pre-med program have attended these institutions all over the country.
We appreciate that pre-med students are often high achievers, however many potential students fear a highly competitive atmosphere. At Chaminade, the courses are challenging but students get a lot of support from faculty and peers. One student who transferred to our program described the contrast with her old school in this way: "At my old school ... it's a competitive atmosphere, everybody is working for themselves. At Chaminade, it's not like that. It's more of a team, everybody helps everybody out. The labs are really nice, very clean, you feel like it's very healthy, no carcinogens. I feel like a professional here."
Our faculty is very accessible: "I really like it that my lab prof is the same as my classroom prof. At my old school I had two different professors for the lab and the class. And, if I need help, I can contact my professor whenever, it's no problem."
