Dr. John Webster's experience spans the corporate and academic worlds. During his 25
years with IBM, he held executive positions in government affairs and communications
in Washington, Brussels and Hong Kong. A Presidential assignment as Special Assistant
to the US Secretary of Treasury gave him a close-up view of government. New
programs to bridge the worlds of business, government and academia were among the
highlights of his tenure as Director of Government Affairs for KPMG in Washington, DC.
Before coming to Hawaii, he started and ran the Nanyang Fellows MBA Program, a special initiative of the Singapore government to help train Asia’s future leaders. As Director of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Program in Honolulu, he is now leading a new offering for honors students and MBA students to expose them to the life and working world of entrepreneurs. He has taught in MBA Programs at Penn State, George Washington, American University, the University of Connecticut and Nanyang Technological University. He trains executives in media skills, crisis management and public speaking.
