Ovid LWW Total Access Collection (Biomedical)

Access Online Databases.

Select

• Select LWW Total Access Collection from the list.
• At the Ovid screen click Sullivan Family Library Full Text Journals to search for articles with full text.

Search

• At the Search screen, enter your search term(s) in the Keywords box.
• You can also search by Author, Article Title or Journal by clicking on the icons.
• Refine Search:
• Limit your results
• Daily Update - limits search results to the most recently added documents. Updates occur once daily.
• Articles with Abstracts - will restrict retrieval to documents that include abstracts. Since only substantial journal articles contain abstracts, this limit will automatically eliminate shorter works such as editorials and letters.
• Publication Year - Select this limit to restrict retrieval to documents published in a given year or year range.

Search Techniques

As you submit searches, Ovid posts your search statement (and the number of results it found for each statement) to the Search History on the Main Search Page.

#	Replace a single letter	ne#t to find neat, nest, next
ADJ#	Words near each other in any order	physician adj5 relationship to find physician and relationship within 5 words of each other in any order

Under the Search History you can Combine search results, Delete search results or Save your search to run it again.

To combine search sets, click the Combine Searches icon.
Click the box to the left of the search sets you want to combine.
Select AND or OR from the drop-down menu.
Click the Continue button.

Search Results

Abstract, Complete Reference, Table of Contents, Ovid Full Text

• Save Article Text - to save an article.
• Email Article Text - on the top right of the page.

To go back to your results page, click Results Display in the green bar at the top right of the screen.
To go back to your search page, click Main Search Page in the green bar at the top right of the screen.

Print

Results Page

• Click the checkbox to the left of the record numbers. Scroll down to display the Results Manager which provides printing options.
• Click the options for printing and click Print Preview to display your results.
• Click your browser's Print button to print.

Article

• While you are in the article, click Print Preview to select a graphic size for printing.
• Click your browser's Print button to print.
