We finalized the plans for John Carr’s visit the week after Thanksgiving.
Dave Coleman supplied a list of members of the Hawaiian Catholic Conference to be invited to dinner at President Sue’s on Sunday evening (Sept. 27). Bro. Jerry will give this list to Esther.
MEA’s will host a workshop for the expanded PLC and the MEA’s at Illi Kai Renaissance Hotel the afternoon of November 29 followed by a reception and dinner. The topic: Social Justice and the Catholic University. Need to supply a list of participants to Cassandra in the Humanities Office; she will send the necessary information to the participants.
The Hawaiian Catholic Conference will sponsor a breakfast and talk by John Carr at St. Pius X on Wednesday morning, November 30. Bro. Jerry and Kay Stone will help out with breakfast at 6:30 A.M. Talk is scheduled for 8:15 followed by discussion from 9:15 to 10 A.M.
Mr. Carr is scheduled to fly back to the mainland late Wednesday afternoon, November 30.
We discussed the content of our future meetings. Mike suggested some time for brainstorming. What can we do to make CUH more Marianist and Catholic? We also felt part of the meeting should foster our growth in the Marianist-Catholic tradition. With this in mind, Kay will provide some questions for sharing at our next meeting. This may require some reading.
Recruiting future MEA’s will primarily consist in inviting potential members to our meetings.
Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for noon on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the President’s Conference Room. Bro. Jerry will provide the food and prayer.
