ADJUNCT FACULTY

Chaminade University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach Anatomy and Physiology (100 level) to students in our Professional and Continuing Education Program (PACE).  This is an evening position, with classes taking place on Oahu military bases and laboratories on the Chaminade campus in Kaimuki. ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Chaminade University of Honolulu seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty position in the Education Division at the Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor level. This position involves teaching both graduate and undergraduate education related courses through both online and face-to-face platforms, curriculum development, student advising, university/community service, and scholarly research. The successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to student success and collegiality.

Minimum Qualification: An earned doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction or a related field. Desired Qualifications: A minimum of three years teaching experience in grades preK-12; exemplary post-secondary teaching experience in a teacher preparation program; familiarity with program accreditation (i.e., CAEP); and content knowledge in science/STEM.

COORDINATOR – RN TO BSN PROGRAM  (NURSING)

This is a full-time, 10-month, tenure/non-tenure nursing faculty position which reports directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing.  The responsibilities of this position includes the implementation of the RN to BSN Program; teaching in the program and other nursing courses as assigned for the workload.

Required:  Master’s degree in Nursing with a minimum of one year of nursing experience in the area(s) of teaching responsibility; current Hawaii RN license or ability to obtain.

Preferred:  Doctorate with 3-5 years of teaching experience; education in curriculum development, evaluation, and teaching methods.

COUNSELOR / ADA SPECIALIST  (PART-TIME)

This part-time position will provide undergraduate and graduate students at Chaminade University with counseling services and assist with any mental health emergencies under the supervision of the Director of Counseling Services.  This position also works with students to establish appropriate ADA accommodations; provide ongoing coordination in conjunction with accommodations; collect and maintain all documentation/records; counseling of students as needed. 

Minimum Education:  Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field required.  Mental health licensure preferred. 

Minimum Experience:  Two years of clinical experience required.  Work with students in higher education and/or severely mentally ill is highly preferable.

DEAN OF EDUCATION
The Dean of the Division of Education reports directly to the Provost.  As the academic leader of the Division, the Dean is responsible for daily operations and budgetary management; program innovation, implementation and evaluation; faculty/staff hiring, mentoring and evaluation; collaboration with educators in the K-12 systems in Hawaii in the program’s student teaching model; and community and professional outreach.  The Dean will provide effective leadership ensuring the success in contributing to the teaching, scholarship, and service mission of the University.  Provides effective oversight of the implementation and evaluation of the program (including outcomes assessment and specialized programmatic accreditation) and monitors continuous improvement of the program, the curriculum and the co-curriculum.

Required:  Earned Ph.D., Ed.D. or advanced practice Doctorate in Education preferred.  Master’s in Education from a nationally-accredited program required.  Experience in program accreditation; experience in external fund development; significant experience working in pre-school, elementary, and/or secondary education, preferably holding a current teaching license at one or more of these levels, experience in leading TEAC/CAEP accreditation efforts.  Significant experience in academic leadership and administration in higher education, including demonstrated knowledge of academic and fiscal planning; demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Desirable:  Experience in and understanding of' the K-12 education system in Hawaii, although not required, would be a plus.  Experience with community and charter school education and culturally appropriate education delivery; experience in the use of technology in the Education curriculum.  Demonstrated competence in working in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment.

Salary and faculty rank are negotiable, but will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preferred start date is June 1, 2015 but no later than August 1, 2015.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY OFFICER

The Environmental Safety Officer (ESO) is a full time exempt position.  The ESO reports to the Executive Director for Compliance and Personnel Services.  The ESO coordinates, audits, manages and participates in emergency, safety and environmental programs for the University main campus and for off-campus residence halls in order to prevent accidents, incidents, and events that may harm the University on and off campus community, property or the environment.  Must have proficient written and communication skills.  Must be able to work with and direct the work of independent contractors and student employees.  Must be available 24/7 to respond to University emergencies on campus and at off-campus residence halls and to monitor emergency information pertaining to serious weather conditions or other hazards.  Must be able to traverse the campus, inspect areas that are difficult to access and be able to stoop, bend, climb and lift.  A valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract is required.  Chaminade conducts criminal background checks and drug testing for new employees.

FINANCIAL AID EVALUATOR / RECEPTIONIST

The Financial Aid Evaluator/Receptionist position reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid.  This position involves the intake and monitoring of all financial aid documents and assists students in the financial aid application process.  The Financial Aid Evaluator/Receptionist serves as the first point of contact with students.

Seeking an individual with excellent planning and organizational skills.  Must be dependable and detail oriented with effective communication skills, both oral and written.  Requires the ability to work in a team environment, multi-task and work under pressure.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.  Knowledge of federal financial aid programs a plus but not necessary.  Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT – C-TRAC/ECE (EDUCATION DIVISION)

The Education Division Graduate Assistant is responsible for maintaining and operating C-TRAC including additional support work for the C-TRAC/ECE director.  During hours of operation, the Graduate Assistant will supervise the use of the equipment, sell consumable supplies, and keep a database record of center use.  A computer will be available for the Graduate Assistant.  The Graduate Assistant will work 20 plus hours in fulfilling the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain the C-TRAC office phone systems;
  • Maintain the C-TRAC email;
  • Supervise and support students, faculty, staff, and other visitors to C-TRAC;
  • Process updates and organize materials and files related to C-TRAC;
  • Process, maintain, and support budget and purchase orders related to C-TRAC;
  • Maintain, update, and improve the C-TRAC website;
  • Maintain and supervise the C-TRAC library;
  • Maintain and supervise the C-TRAC computer system including communicating with IT for support;
  • Maintain and replenish the necessary supplies and materials for C-TRAC;
  • Maintain the laminating machine for C-TRAC use;
  • Maintain ResourceMate (Library Database);
  • Assist in preserving resources including converting VHS videos to DVD;
  • Assist in student support related to ECE/Montessori;
  • Assist in faculty support related to ECE/Montessori;
  • Assist and support C-TRAC/ECE director in any capacity as needed.

The successful candidate will be a current graduate student at Chaminade University of Honolulu.  This position requires an individual with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.  Intermediate to advanced level computer skills are required in MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.  Familiarity with Hawai’i’s DOE and HTSB processes is preferred as well as knowledge of ETS Praxis tests and processes.  In addition, the successful applicant must have the ability to take initiative, be detail oriented, highly organized, work independently, and meet deadlines.

INSTRUCTIONAL LABORATORY COORDINATOR  (PT)

Chaminade University seeks a Laboratory Coordinator (part time) for the instructional (non-research laboratories).  Duties include supervision of teaching assistants, class preparation and general lab and equipment maintenance.  Required: Bachelor’s degree in a natural science (biology, physics, chemistry or a related and relevant discipline).  Preferred: 1 year professional experience in a laboratory setting, familiarity with fundamentals of laboratory safety and operations.

RESIDENCE HALL DIRECTOR
The Residence Hall Director is responsible for the out-of-class living/learning experience for the students in residence and assisting with the training and supervision of the student residence staff.  This includes residence life, residential student activities, developmental programs, and student discipline of violations occurring within the halls.
Part-time, Graduate Student Assistant Position. The position is for one year with the option to renew pending performance evaluation.  Bachelor’s degree required.  Program Requirement:  Candidate must be enrolled in any Master’s Program within Chaminade University.  The position is for 12 months, approximately 20 hours per week and weekly duty rotation.

SITE ASSISTANT TO OFF-CAMPUS PROGRAM COORDINATOR – SCHOFIELD BARRACKS

Seeking responsible, organized, personable individual with a clear audible voice and excellent communication skills for assisting in the daily clerical activities of the office; must be detailed oriented; accurate data input and retrieval required.  The office is located on Schofield Barracks.  Familiarity with data base systems is helpful.  Associate degree or higher preferred.
