LECTURERS
Chaminade is seeking candidates for the part time lecturer pool to teach in the evening and day sessions. Specific needs are: Accounting, Anatomy and Physiology, Botany and Ethnobotany, Business, College Algebra, Economics, English (expository writing), Environmental Botany, History, Human Nutrition, Human Resource Management, Interior Design (drafting), Management/Leadership, Marketing, Philosophy, and Religion. Requires a masters degree in the discipline and teaching experience at a college level preferred. Submit a resume, transcript copy, and, if available, teaching evaluations. DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROGRAMS IN EDUCATION
Coordinates, manages and promotes all non-regular degree, cohort and professional development programs. Responsible for the management of budgets, purchasing, and registration and advising of students with the ability to operate professionally; to work cooperatively; and to communicate effectively with people. Master’s degree in education or related field and preferably a teaching license from the state of Hawaii. This is a one year appointment with renewal subject to available funding.
REPORTING, SCHEDULING, AND TRAINING OFFICER
Responsible for NCAA compliance reporting including searching internal and external databases; schedules software upgrades and patches; trains and writes documentation for end users. Requires a high degree of technical competence, possess a wide range of educational backgrounds; ability to interact positively with students, faculty, and staff. Excellent English language skills, strong communications and diplomatic skills are essential, including discretion when working with sensitive information. Must be customer-oriented, have knowledge of database reporting tools, proficiency in relational databases, and experience in user training. Bachelor’s degree required or five years experience working in an educational environment.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Coordinates TRIO academic support program for students who are first generation, low income, and/or disabled. Knowledge of U.S. DOE federal regulations and experience in grant writing preferred. Required: Master’s degree in education, counseling psychology, or related field; minimum two years administrative experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Funding pending notification from U.S. Department of Education.
PROGRAM ADVISOR / TUTOR COORDINATOR
Oversees day-to-day operation of the tutoring program; recruits, trains and evaluates peer and professional tutors. Helps plan, coordinate and evaluate the summer enrichment program. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in education, counseling psychology, or related field preferred. Must have excellent working knowledge of computers; strong communication skills – written and oral; group facilitation skills and experience in staff supervision. Funding pending notification from U.S. Department of Education.
MAJOR GIFTS PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Coordinates and implements activities related to the major gifts program working closely with vice president. Must have highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Event production experience required. Raisers’ Edge ability a plus. Three to five years relevant experience required. Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team setting. Bachelor’s degree required. Salary commensurate with experience.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT / EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking an Associate Professor in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. This faculty member will provide leadership in fulfilling the mission and strategic vision of Early Childhood Education both within the university and the state of Hawai’i. Responsibilities include: management of the early childhood (PK - Grade 3) teacher education programs; knowledge of and/or experience in Montessori educational settings; oversee curriculum development and staffing of child development graduate courses; leadership and service in the Early Childhood field and community organizations; teaching child development, methodology and assessment courses; coordination of field experiences. Requires a PhD degree in child development or related field; a minimum of five years university teaching experience in child development, early childhood education or related field; record of productive scholarship; evidence of leadership skills and of successful teaching; familiarity with NAYEC standards. LECTURERS – EDUCATION DIVISION
Chaminade is seeking to expand the pool of part-time lecturers for the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and masters programs. Coursework is offered on ground, online, and in hybrid (on-ground and online) modes, but most openings are for online and evening courses. Areas of coursework include educational research, educational assessment, educational psychology, educational leadership, curriculum, multicultural education, Hawaiian culture, special education, early childhood education, and subject methods. A Masters degree and five years of teaching experience is required, but a doctorate is preferred for postgraduate teaching. Online teaching experience would be desirable, as well as experience in PreK-12 education. Candidates need not be Hawai’i residents for online teaching. Submit a resume, transcript copy, and, if available, teaching evaluations. Include a cover letter that describes those courses or areas that you would be interested in teaching.
