Have knowledge of business procedures and computer operations to include accurate data input and retrieval of data. Should be experienced working with Microsoft Office programs plus general knowledge of data entry procedures and database concepts. Familiar with the needs of professional and continuing students. Able to operate during periods of intense activity in a personable and professional manner. Possess interpersonal skills; be well-organized and detail oriented. Bachelorís degree or five years of experience in an academic environment preferred.
EMERGING LEARNING TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR
The Director of Emerging Learning Technology is responsible for setting the vision and direction for learning technologies at Chaminade University. The director identifies implements and supports the use of appropriate learning technologies to enhance the learning environment, advises faculty on learning technology use in both traditional and distance education classes, and works with individual faculty members to assist in the adapting academic strategies for online and hybrid learning experiences. The director also supports faculty professional development by providing group and individual activities to increase faculty awareness and understanding of various new and emerging learning technologies and will help make the learning experiences a strategic differentiator for the institution. The director also works with faculty and other members of the University community to ensure that academic quality is maintained in face-to-face and distance learning activities.
A Masterís degree is preferred; with additional weight given to a degree in instructional design or instructional technology. Five years of experience as an instructional designer and a Bachelorís degree may be considered in lieu of a Masterís degree.
FIELD SERVICES DIRECTOR
Field Services Director should possess skills for building partnerships with local schools, as well as working with faculty and students to support national accreditation standards for practicums in K-12 educational settings. The Director is responsible for all field placements of students enrolled in educational licensure programs and will oversee the collection and reporting of fieldwork data that will be used to make programmatic decisions for the Division. This position will report directly to the Dean and participate in the writing of reports for accreditation. Should have a Masterís degree in education and experience as a classroom teacher and in pre-service teacher education programs; detail knowledge of Hawaii Department of Education policies and requirements for licensure, and accreditation of teacher education programs; strong writing and data management skills; knowledge of national accreditation policies and experience in writing technical reports.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER INTERN
Part-time position working twenty hours per week for a 10 month period at $10,000 stipend as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Medical, dental and a limited education tuition waiver benefit available upon acceptance to a masterís program at Chaminade University. Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the candidate will be assigned to care for and prevent athletic injuries, provide practice and competition coverage, and other duties assigned by the Athletic Training Staff. Will be expected to assist during the transitional period between seasons of the 10 sponsored team sports (Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, and Golf). Hours vary to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We are searching for two full-time, non-tenure track faculty members to teach in the area of Children and Family Nursing and Health Assessment. Responsibilities include course and curriculum development, didactic and clinical teaching, student supervision, and evaluation of students in a BSN program. The successful candidates shall hold a minimum of a masterís degree in nursing with one year of nursing experience in the area of teaching responsibility. A doctorate, 3-5 years of teaching experience, and education in curriculum development, evaluation, and teaching methods is preferred. The successful candidate must hold a current Hawaii RN license or have the ability to obtain one.
As a faculty member for the nursing program, one position will be responsible for the development of nursing students in the areas of children and family nursing and the other in health assessment.
