Responsible to provide technology assistance and basic instruction in hardware and software use. DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF NURSING
The Dean of the School of Nursing reports to the Provost. As the academic leader of the School, the Dean is responsible for daily operations and budgetary management; program innovation, implementation and evaluation; faculty/staff hiring, mentoring and evaluation; collaboration with nurse leaders in the program’s clinical partnership model; and community and professional outreach. The Dean will provide effective leadership ensuring the success in contributing to the teaching, scholarship, and service mission of the University. Provides effective oversight of the implementation and evaluation of the program (including outcomes assessment) and monitors continuous improvement of the program. The Dean will represent the University’s vision and mission, strategic levers and policies and procedures to the school’s faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large. The successful candidate will have an earned Ph.D. Ed.D or advanced practice Doctoral in Nursing preferred. Master’s in Nursing from a nationally-accredited program required. Holds current nursing license for the State of Hawaii. Minimum of 5 years in a nursing leadership position, experience in program accreditation; experience in external fund development. Preferred experience with community and rural healthcare and culturally appropriate healthcare delivery; experience in the use of simulation in the nursing curriculum. Demonstrated competence in working in a multicultural and multiethnic environment.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR COMPLIANCE AND PERSONNEL SERVICES
This is a senior position reporting to the President. The Executive Director provides leadership and administrative direction to personnel services, compliance, environmental safety and overall policy development and administration. As liaison to the external University Counsel the position coordinates legal issues for the University. It administers aspects of the department including budgeting, planning and reporting requirements. The position requires seven years experience in personnel services and compliance with government regulations. The successful candidate is expected to have an advanced degree with a focus in Human Resources or additional experience at increasingly senior levels. INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The instructional support specialist is part of a team responsible for working with faculty on the development of instructional content that will be used in online, blended, and traditional on-campus courses. (S)he coordinates and conducts workshops on the use of learning technologies, provides system and administrative support for online courses, and helps support the campus classroom media systems.
The instructional support specialist coordinates and conducts appropriate training for faculty to ensure the best use of the learning platform and other technology tools in the learning experience, creates audio, video, web pages, animation, and photo materials for courses, identifies or creates instructional web and media-based support materials (tutorials, demos, training modules), provides system administration of the learning management system and portfolio system, troubleshoots course implementation issues with faculty, and provides second level support for classroom technology configuration and issues.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and experience providing assistance to faculty or other teaching professionals in an educational institution. A qualified candidate will have experience providing technical training in group and individualized settings, intermediate skill in using web and media based technologies for education, experience with classroom based projection and audio systems, familiarity with at least one learning management system, and a knowledge of a wide variety of educational applications. The instructional technologist is part of a team responsible for supporting the vision and direction for learning technologies at Chaminade University. (S) He is the primary evangelist for the use of learning technology and works with faculty to incorporate technology into the learning environment (both online and face-to-face). The instructional technologist is expected to assist faculty with current and emerging learning technologies that will help make the learning experiences at Chaminade a strategic differentiator for the institution.
The instructional technologist implements and supports the use of appropriate learning technologies to enhance the learning environment (both traditional and distance) of the university, advises faculty on learning technology use in both traditional and distance education classes, provides design guidance and second level support for classroom technology configurations, and identifies or creates instructional web and media-based support materials (tutorials, demos, training modules).
This position requires a Masterís degree (or three years of experience and a Bachelorís degree) with additional weight given to a degree in instructional design or instructional technology. A qualified candidate will also have two years of experience in instructional design or instructional technology at an institute of higher education. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated familiarity and strong comfort level with the use of learning technologies, experience with and expertise in at least one major learning management system and an understanding of the design and use of classroom based media systems. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. Responsible for the proper, timely, accurate recording and reporting of the University’s federal and state grants. Work closely with grant Principal Investigators, as well as Office of Sponsored Research (Associate Provost of Faculty Development, Assessment & Research & staff) to manage and administer awarded grants. The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in accounting including at least 2 years of experience in federal grants management/administration. The candidate must also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be proficient in designing financial reports and preparing spreadsheet analysis, and have effective problem solving skills. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field is required.
Challenging position requiring an experienced self-starter with top notch administrative and people skills. Must be mature minded and comfortable interacting with high-level executives and professionals but equally comfortable dealing with students and clients at all levels. Must have experience with calendar programs, e-mail and the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Power Point. Some experience with social media would also be useful. Must have good writing skills, and be a team player!
A Bachelor’s degree or progress towards attaining such a degree is desirable.
