ADJUNCT LECTURERS

Chaminade has on-going needs for per course temporary faculty to teach in the areas of: Accounting, Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Elementary Science, English (expository writing), Fine Arts, Interior Design, Mathematics, Nutrition, Physics, and Physiology. Requires a Masterís degree in the discipline and teaching experience at a college level preferred. ADA COORDINATOR/COUNSELOR Ė Part-Time Position

This part-time position will work with students to establish appropriate ADA accommodations; provide ongoing coordination in conjunction with accommodations; collect and maintain all documentation/records; counseling of students as needed. Masterís degree in psychology, social work, or related field required. Mental health licensure preferred.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN BIOLOGY

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a full-time (01.0 FTE) Assistant Professor with a background in Biochemistry with emphasis in nutrition and metabolism, or a related discipline, to begin August 2014. The candidate will be responsible for instruction in undergraduate courses in the biology and biochemistry programs specializing in nutrition and metabolism and will be required to participate in instruction in team-taught undergraduate core courses as appropriate. This position may be a tenure track or non-tenure track appointment.

Qualifications include: Required: PhD degree in biology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Desired: instructional experience in lecture and laboratory courses at the undergraduate level in life or natural science disciplines; record of peer-reviewed research and extramural funding; experience in curriculum design and assessment; Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN OF STUDENTS

This position is the administrative assistant member for the Student Affairs Division, which requires an individual to assist the Dean in all facets of managing and operations of the division, which includes: co-curricular programs, student support programs, intercollegiate athletics, and student services. Provides administrative and assistant support, preparation of reports and materials for meetings, office publications (including electronic communication), and the clerical coordination for several programs for which the division has responsibility. Bachelorís degree required with a minimum of five yearsí experience as an administrative assistant. This position requires a person with very strong interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, working knowledge and experience using calendar programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; the ability to work as a team member, and an understanding and commitment to the overall goals of the division.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY OFFICER

The Environmental Safety Officer (ESO) is a full time exempt position. The ESO reports to the Executive Director for Compliance and Personnel Services. The ESO coordinates, audits, manages and participates in emergency, safety and environmental programs for the University main campus and for Off-Campus residence halls in order to prevent accidents, incidents, and events that may harm the University on and off campus community, property or the environment. The ESO is required to maintain regular full time office hours in an assigned office. The ESO is required to exercise care and discretion in maintaining the confidentiality of relevant communications. Must have at least three years relevant experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have proficient written and communication skills. Must have excellent listening and report writing skills. Must be able to listen and take direction and complete projects and reports in accordance with specified deadlines; work collaboratively and in a respectful manner with a diverse range of people; work under stressful conditions; and have the experience and the ability to direct and train people. Must be able to work with and direct the work of independent contractors and student employees. Must be available 24/7 to respond to University emergencies on campus and at Off-Campus residence halls and to monitor emergency information pertaining to serious weather conditions or other hazards. Must carry University issued cellular telephone and immediately respond to telephone calls from University personnel and vendors. Must be able to traverse the campus, inspect areas that are difficult to access and be able to stoop, bend, climb and lift. A valid driverís license and clean driving abstract is required. LECTURER IN MATHEMATICS

Chaminade University seeks applicants for the position of Lecturer in Mathematics. This position involves the teaching of university level mathematics classes including introductory/preparatory courses, college algebra, pre-calculus and calculus. The successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to student success, experience teaching mathematics at the advanced high school or college level, and a Masters or Ph.D. degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related discipline.

NURSING FACULTY

Chaminade University of Honolulu invites inquiries and applications for two new nursing faculty positions for the fall semester, 2014.

We are searching for two full-time, non-tenure track faculty members to teach in the area of Children and Family Nursing and Health Assessment. Responsibilities include course and curriculum development, didactic and clinical teaching, student supervision, and evaluation of students in a BSN program. The successful candidates shall hold a minimum of a masterís degree in nursing with one year of nursing experience in the area of teaching responsibility. A doctorate, 3-5 years of teaching experience, and education in curriculum development, evaluation, and teaching methods is preferred. The successful candidate must hold a current Hawaii RN license or have the ability to obtain one.

As a faculty member for the nursing program, one position will be responsible for the development of nursing students in the areas of children and family nursing and the other in health assessment.

NURSING FACULTY POSITION

Chaminade University is seeking to fill a non-tenure track position in the area of adult health leadership and Clinical Coordination in the undergraduate nursing program. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining clinical partnerships, assisting in the hiring and orientation of clinical adjunct faculty, serving as a liaison between the School of Nursing and the community, and classroom teaching. Qualified applicant should have an interest in the development of a new nursing program and the development of the curricula of a BSN program. Masterís degree in Nursing with one year of nursing experience in are(s) of teaching responsibility and current Hawaii RN license or ability to obtain one is required; doctorate desirable; 3-5 years of teaching or work experience in Hawaii is preferred. NURSING PROGRAM ASSISTANT

This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining the School of Nursing office to facilitate effective and efficient operations. Responsibilities will include serving as office manager, providing computer support for the division using Microsoft programs, developing and maintaining data bases and files, maintaining the nursing website, and assuming administrative responsibilities for School of Nursing activities. Required qualifications include a Bachelorís Degree and a minimum of 3-5 yearsí work experience, competence with all Microsoft Office Programs, ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and ability to provide excellent customer service, planning and organizational skills. Preferred qualifications include the knowledge of medical terminology.

RECEPTIONIST

The receptionist creates a welcoming environment in the office; performs day-to-day clerical services to the division faculty; provides general information to students, faculty and staff; planning and coordinating events, guest lectures, and meetings; prepares brochures and programs for the Performing Arts productions; provides students and faculty with LiveText assistance; maintains office machines. Must be able to: be well organized, multitask, perform required tasks in a timely manner, follow directions and protocol, work independently, and maintain a level of professionalism in working with students, faculty, and staff.
Minimum qualifications: must be proficient with Word, and Microsoft Office Suite products and a working knowledge of Publisher and Adobe Photoshop. Bachelorís degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
