Earth Day Topic Focuses On Global Warming And Buddhism

HONOLULU—April 4, 2007— Chaminade University of Honolulu’s Gender Studies and Environmental Studies Programs with the co-sponsorship of the Hawai`i Association of International Buddhists will feature an Earth Day Celebration presentation titled “Global Warming and Buddhism” on Thurs., April 19, 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Chaminade University in the Ching Conference Center, second floor of Eiben Hall, 3140 Waialae Avenue.

The presentation includes the Oscar winning documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth” by Al Gore, a slide presentation with comments on the film by Al Gore's associate Stuart Scott (Trans Pacific Hawai'i College), Buddhist reflections by Barry Sullivan (Honolulu Diamond Sangha) and Poranee Natadecha-Sponsel (Hawai`i Association of International Buddhists and Chaminade University), and Leslie E. Sponsel (HAIB and University of Hawai`i at Manoa) as moderator.
