April 25, 2006—Honolulu, HI—Chaminade University will induct its fifth year of dreamers – 30 students -- into its Hogan Entrepreneur Program on Thursday, April 27; from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the Mystical Rose Oratory on campus. These honor students come from a variety of backgrounds with a wide variety of dreams. From across the disciplines– the arts, the sciences, business, communication, counseling psychology, and education majors – they share two commonalities – the dream of expressing their gifts, talents and unique interests as entrepreneurs and the hope to do it significantly.
The inductees will be in good company. This year’s event also celebrates the fourth graduating class of Hogan students, who are chomping at the bit to start their own new ventures. Since its inception in 2002, the Hogan Program has graduated 130 students, including this class of 21 graduates.
“Each student is nurtured towards roles of leadership through a unique mentorship program,” said Dr. John Webster, program director. “Our students undertake a series of courses with training and guidance from corporate and legislative leaders, civic and community service leaders, as well as successful business entrepreneurs who have started everything from restaurants to high tech companies. Wisdom is shared and relationships are built.”
Designed to prepare Chaminade’s top students for entrepreneurial careers, community service and ethical conduct, the Hogan Entrepreneurs Program is a distinctive program launched by Chaminade University with a generous gift from the Hogan Family Foundation.
