Honolulu, Hawaii – March 12, 2007- Dr. Sue Wesselkamper, president of Chaminade University of Honolulu, will meet with educators, community and religious leaders in the Federated States of Micronesia March 17-24. Bro. Bernard Ploeger, University executive vice president and provost, and Grissel Benitez-Hodge, dean of student affairs, will accompany Dr. Wesselkamper on her eight-day trip to Pohnpei, Chuuk, Guam and Saipan.
“As president of Chaminade, I am looking forward to connecting with the families of our students, as well as our Chaminade alumni from Micronesia,” said Wesselkamper. “Our Chaminade students represent an array of diverse cultures with our students from the U.S. Pacific Territories accounting for about 12% of our student body.”
During her visit, Wesselkamper and her team will also meet with civic, church and educational leaders including Governor of Saipan Benigno R. Fitial, Lt. Governor Timothy P. Villagomez and His Excellency, Most Reverend Bishop Tomas A. Camacho.
