With nearly 40 talented cast and crew members, this spring musical is one of the University’s biggest and most challenging productions in recent years. Truly a collaborative effort, the production draws on not only the gifts and talents of Chaminade’s own students, staff and faculty, but also from the theater community at large, as well as from the University of Hawaii, Punahou School and Kalani High School. Directed by Bro. Gary Morris, SM, with Timothy Carney as its musical director and Brad Powell as its dance choreographer, the two-act comic operetta promises to be a hit with pirates, romance, plot turns and tongue twisting songs.
BRO. GARY MORRIS, SM, a native San Franciscan, has been directing plays for over thirty-five years and has close to one hundred to his credit. TIMOTHY CARNEY serves as associate professor of music at Chaminade University, where he teaches courses in Great Composers, Musical Theatre, and conducts the Chaminade Chorus. He is also music director of the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble, a select choral group in residence at Chaminade.
