Memorial Concert will Chaminade President Sue Wesselkamper

HONOLULUJanuary 21, 2009—A memorial concert for former Chaminade University President Sue Wesselkamper will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, at Central Union Church, 1660 S. Beretania Street, Honolulu, 96826.

The Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble, directed by Dr. Timothy Carney and accompanied by members of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, will perform Gabriel Fauré Requiem and other selections.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Those in attendance will be offered the opportunity to contribute to an endowed scholarship which has been established by the Chaminade Board of Regents in honor of Wesselkamper.

Dr. Mary Civille (Sue) Wesselkamper, Chaminade University’s eighth and longest serving president, died on January 3, at the age of 66. She was the first woman president of Chaminade, the first woman to head a Marianist sponsored university and the first woman president to preside over a Hawaii university.
