HONOLULU—September 19, 2008—Due to the apparent tumor recurrence and continuing effects resulting from her surgery for bile duct cancer three years ago and upon the advisement of her doctors, President Sue Wesselkamper has requested, and Chaminade’s Board has approved, a leave of absence for medical reasons.
During her leave, the University’s Executive Vice President and Provost, Bro. Bernie Ploeger, will serve as acting president.
President Sue has been greatly encouraged by the well wishes, prayers and support she continues to receive.
