Former US Ambassador To Speak on Terrorism

Honolulu, HI—October 6, 2005
Chaminade University of Honolulu will host a forum on  “Terrorism and 9/11: What We Must Do To Defend Ourselves” on Friday, October 14, 2005, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in Henry Hall #102 on campus. Alvin Adams, the former US ambassador to Djibouti, Haiti, and Peru, will speak on current global terrorism in general and on events of September 11th, 2001, specifically. Ambassador Adams is a retired career Foreign Service who also served as Principal Deputy in the Bureau of Counter Terrorism (U.S. Department of State), and as President and CEO of the United Nations Association of the United States. In addition, he formerly taught Peace Studies for International Relations at Tokai University Pacific Center. Currently he serves as Honorary Consul of Peru and Counselor to the President of the Bishop Museum for International Affairs.  Adams will discuss what is new in today's form of terrorism and how the US can most effectively combat it.
