Vidinha Awards Scholarship Grant to Serve Kauai Students

HONOLULU—April 2, 2008—Antone & Edene Vidinha Charitable Trust, Bank of Hawaii Trustee, awarded a grant of $10,000 for scholarship assistance to deserving students from Kauai who will be attending Chaminade University during the academic year of 2008-09.

Chaminade President Sue Wesselkamper expressed her gratitude. “Chaminade’s scholarship program is an essential component of our commitment to providing traditionally underserved students a quality university education,” she said.  “This fall, our total learning community totaled some 2,400 students with more than 90% of those students receiving some form of financial aid. Our campus and program is particularly well suited to the needs of students from the Neighbor Islands. It is through supporters such as the Antone and Edene Vidinha Charitable Trust that we are able to persist in providing our students with a competitive values-based education that will last them a lifetime.”
