Nursing Program Admission Process
Application and Admission Process
Nursing Program
The PRIORITY DEADLINE for applications to the nursing program for fall 2012 is February 1, 2012.
Chaminade University welcomes applications from all students who have the ability, motivation, and preparation to benefit from a bachelor’s degree in nursing program.
First-year students: Apply in your senior year of high school. The nursing program is designed to be a four-year, full-time progression, with students admitted to the program in the first year of university study.
Transfer students: Transfer students may apply. The program is a full-time, four year program regardless of progression in other programs. Transfer credits will be evaluated under our usual transfer credit procedures. Some program-specific courses may not transfer.
Fall semester admissions only: Please note, nursing students are only admitted for fall semester enrollment (there are no spring semester admits for Nursing.)
Procedure
The admission procedure for our Nursing Program is as follows:
- To be considered for the program, you must meet the requirements for nursing.
- Apply to Chaminade University. Complete an application to Chaminade, and select nursing as your major. Send in all required documents. (You may start this process by filling out the online application to Chaminade University.)
- In addition to Chaminade University admission documents, to be considered for the Nursing Program please send the Admissions Office these additional documents:

- A one-page essay (required) covering these topics:
- Why do you want to become a nurse?
- Why do you want to attend the Chaminade nursing program?

- Once Admissions has your completed packet, your documents will be forwarded to the Nursing Department. The Nursing Department will evaluate applications after February 1.
