Preparation for the Future

The Chaminade program is designed to prepare our nursing graduates to be at the forefront of contemporary health care practice:

  • We have designed a cutting-edge curriculum aligned with national standards for the “nurses of tomorrow.”
  • Sophisticated simulated patient care experiences will give our students preparation and confidence for entry into the clinical setting.
  • Our genetic and genomics curriculum will prepare students for the era of personalized medicine.
  • Our nursing students will be immersed in diverse health care settings, learning to care for an aging population burdened with complex diseases.
  • Clinical informatics skills, such as the use of electronic medical records and patient care plans will be a part of our students' training.
  • Our students will learn the importance of cultural awareness in nursing practice through a focus on Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders and other underserved populations.
