Dean Stephanie Genz, EdD, RN spent a decade teaching public health nursing and leadership. She also has 25 years of practical nursing experience in Wisconsin, Alaska and Russia. In 2000 she developed a nurse-managed clinic in La Crosse, Wisconsin to address the needs of the homeless. Her area of expertise is public health nursing. Assistant Professor Sung Yup Jung, MSN, RN has clinical experience as an ER nurse, CCIU, and home visit nurse at Straub Hospital in Honolulu, as well as experience in health assessments and geriatric evaluations for veterans at the VA Hospital and Home in Honolulu. Faculty profile »
Assistant Professor Tiffanie Kanayama, MSN Ed, RN has specializations in medical-surgical nursing, curriculum development and evaluation, and nursing education. Associate Professor Patricia Kiladis, PhD©, MSN, RN is a nursing educator with many years of experience in nursing practice, curriculum development, and teaching. Most recently, she was the Director of the Undergraduate School of Nursing and a member of the nursing faculty at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Associate Professor Edna Magpantay-Monroe, EdD, APRN is the Clinical Coordinator for the Chaminade Nursing program. She has been a nurse for 24 years, with formal teaching experience for 20 years, and has practiced in several areas of nursing including intermediate care, medical surgical, mental health, community health, home health, utilization management, case management, worker's compensation, call centers, and nursing administration. Assistant Professor Jeanette Peterson, MSN, RN is the Simulation Coordinator for CUH SON. Her expertise is in the area of simulation and she has used her expertise to integrate simulation throughout the nursing curriculum at Chaminade. Professor Peterson has been with the nursing program for over a year and previously was at Gateway Community College where she was clinical faculty, adjunct faculty, and a member of their simulation team. Associate Professor Heather Schlessman PhD, PNP, RN is a pediatric nurse practitioner/educator who has been a nurse for over 30 years. She has practiced in many areas of nursing related to maternal/child health and has taught nursing for 12 years. She was recently in practice as pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric urology and her dissertation work involved college students with a history of traumatic brain injury. A grant from Atlantic Philanthropies established a partnership between the Chaminade School of Nursing and the University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing, considered by many to be one of the top nursing schools in the country.
