You are embarking on an opportunity to learn about your course material through service to persons in need. You will meet one or more educational goals through this service. Your course syllabus should identify those goals.
Sites and/or projects for service will be suggested by your instructor or by the Service-Learning Program office in HH118. In some cases you may choose or develop your own.
Student’s RECORD OF PARTICIPATION. Keep this form with you. Use it to keep a record of the day of your work, the time in and out along with total of hours/minutes that you serve. Supervisor must sign or initial it each time you serve.
Volunteer Site SUPERVISOR’S EVALUATION. At the end of your service, hand this form to your community supervisor (not needed if your supervisor and instructor are the same person) and remind them to fill it out. Give them enough time to complete it by the due date! The supervisor will fax/mail it to the Service-Learning Program office by December 5th, 2008.
Writing about your service-learning experiences derives meaning from your service. Your reflection paper will enable your instructor to see what learning has occurred during your service. Your instructor may give you a guide for this paper. (See Reflection Guidelines)
