What's appropriate for your organization's needs? Service-Learning vs. Community Service partnerships At Chaminade University, Service-Learning (S-L) partnerships link academic coursework with real-world issues. In a typical S-L course, the professor identifies the types of service that will allow students to apply the lessons from that classroom. The students' service experience should deepen their understanding of that specific course's content, and it should also meet the needs of the community. If the volunteer tasks needed by your organization are not linkable to academic courses, we may be able to offer the opportunities through our Community Service Office instead. |
