Awards

Criteria for Student Awards

To be considered for an award in Service-Learning, the candidate must have:

  1. Completed approximately sixty hours of Service-Learning,
  2. Performed that service in an exemplary manner as attested by the cooperating agency,
  3. Demonstrated to the satisfaction of the course professor that the service contributed to the student’s command of the subject matter,
  4. Exhibited in the reflection process a heightened awareness of persons who are in need.

Awards Statement

This award in Service-Learning is given to a student who has performed service in an exemplary manner for a significant number of hours, therein growing in command of the subject matter of the course and becoming more aware of the poverty and oppression in our society. The awardee shows some determination to work at alleviating those conditions.
