Our Mission
The Academic Achievement Program (SSS) strives to provide a variety of academic & personal support services to undergraduate students who are first generation, have a disability, and/or a financial need, thus enabling them to attain success through persistence & graduation.

Overview
The Academic Achievement Program (AAP) is designed to assist eligible students in completing their academic goals. It is funded through a $325,148 annual grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

It is part of the family of TRIO programs which are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes six outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs.  Specifically, the AAP is a TRIO Student Support Services program, which seeks to increase retention and graduation rates for eligible students. We accomplish our mission through a variety of services that help students make the transition to college both academically and socially.  These services include tutoring, workshops, cultural events, grant aid, our laptop and media loan-out program, academic/personal advising, and preparation for graduate school exams.
