Johanna Kuwazaki

Johanna Kuwazaki

Major: Elementary Education

"I was born here in Hawaii, but raised in Anchorage, Alaska for 15 years. I am an Elementary Education Major, but also plan on continuing my education and becoming a registered nurse. I wanted to become an Orientation Leader because I feel that those first few days are critical to new students, and the welcoming Orientation Leaders really helped me feel more comfortable about settling into this new college life. As an Orientation Leader I want to be able to give new students that same type of comfort, but also be a peer that new students feel they can turn to. A random fact is that I`ve lived in Alaska pretty much all my life, love fishing, but have never caught a fish! But hey never give up!"

Major: Historical and Political Studies Major

"Please don’t let the huge title fool you, I am just a plain old history major.  I decided to be an OL because I want to show the new students what it is truly like at Chaminade and what they can gain at Chaminade.  While I am an OL I wish to help the new students find a home here at Chaminade and also help them meet friends."

Mattie Cifuentes

Mattie Vanessa Cifuentes

Major: Environmental Studies

20 year-old Environmental Science major from the beautiful country of Colombia.  As an orientation leader, Mattie hopes to gain valuable leadership experience and have the opportunity to usher new students into the exciting college experience. She enjoys hugging trees and frolicking with the monk seals. While indoors, Mattie likes listening to good music and engaging in colorful conversation with friends.  She expresses her artistic side through knitting ridiculously long scarfs and painting pretty pictures. An interesting fact: She has a shrine to Taco Bell in her bedroom.

Neolani Tu'u

Noelani Tu'u

Major: Forensic Science

"I am an undergraduate student at Chaminade University of Honolulu majoring in Forensic Science.  Some call me Lani, some call me Noe and some call me Recycling-dude (although I would prefer Environmental Engineer).  And just in case you are wondering I do a lot of recycling here at Chaminade University, it is my job, hence Recycling-dude.

You can bet-your-bottom-dollar-that-the-sun-will-come-up-tomorrow that I really enjoy watching science fiction movies, like "Star Wars" and "The Matrix", I really love spam musubi (a Hawaiian favorite made with rice, seaweed, and spam with a little touch of soy sauce), and I am someone who is still in the process of growing.  I really enjoy it when I get a chance to meet someone and learn something new from them.  Who am I?  That is a question I am still answering, but you can bet that the answer is not about to change for a long time to come."

Terri Mei

Terri Mei

Major: Elementary Education (Minor: Mathematics)

Why did I decide to become an OL?  I love meeting new people and educating them about our school and the community.
What do I hope to accomplish as an OL?  To make a difference to someone.
One interesting fact about me is that I secretly love post-its. Just seeing them makes me super happy.
