Career Planning Services

A wide variety of services are offered to students to help them prepare, plan, and secure employment. For more information about any of the following services, please visit the Career Services office in Student Support Services.

Students are able to check out their career preferences by taking advantage of the information on the Career Services’ Online Tools and Resources page. These include:

  • FOCUS-2 Career Assessment Test - to help you develop an accurate picture of your personal strengths, needs, and preferences; and will help you develop a sound career plan.
  • Career Kokua - for sound career decision making,
  • Vault Career Library (the leading source of career information) - will make your efforts at researching employers, industries, and career subjects infinitely easier and more efficient.
  • Various Job Boards, Career Management Tools, and Videos are available under Online Tools and Resources. Please check them out!

Please ring either of the staff to make an appointment for career counseling. Be aware that this is a process, not a one-off event, and may require the student to do some homework to aid them in planning for their future.

In addition to workshops, students can bring their resumes and letters of application in for proof reading and checking. Normally we require 24 hours to do this as it has to be fitted in around other work commitments. Appointments can also be made for students to have mock interviews in preparation for real job interviews.

All students are welcome to attend any of these workshops.
