- Independent, Catholic, Marianist. Founded by the Society of Mary, there are over 30 Marianists brothers and priests who live on the campus. Other Marianist colleges are the University of Dayton in Ohio and St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. The University is named after the founder of the Society of Mary, Father William Joseph Chaminade. Students of all religions and backgrounds are welcome.

- Forensic Sciences is a rigorous program that requires intensive study in many disciplines, including chemistry, biology, physics, and criminal law. Dr. M. Lee Goff, Forensic Sciences, has served as a consultant to the hit TV show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
- Criminology&Criminal Justice Major
- The Criminal Justice degree program provides substantial preparation for graduate studies. Graduates are in demand for careers in administration, criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, and more.
- Pre-Health Sciences Major
- Pre-Health Sciences Majors from Chaminade have won awards from national conferences as undergraduates. To prepare for a medical degree, students have many opportunities for applied knowlege and research as well as learning the academic basics.
- Environmental Studies Major
- The Environmental Studies Degree integrates numerous academic disciplines and encourages active, hands-on experiences, problem solving, and an understanding of the environmental ethics of Eastern, Western, and Polynesian peoples.
