Aloha and Welcome! Chaminade University regularly admits students from other countries and welcomes the international representation they bring to the student body. It is recognized, however, that students from other countries may have special needs with regards to language, finances, living arrangements, and other matters pertaining to college or personal life. Assistance with these concerns and with immigration and visa requirements is available. Please email Ms. Marlene Baker for more information: mbaker@chaminade.edu.

Requirements:

For unconditional admission we require a minimum of:

  • TOEFL paper-based minimum 550, computer-based minimum 21, or 79-80 internet based, if English is not your first language

If English is your first language:

  • SAT 900 (critical reading and math) or ACT 19

The equivalent of:

  • High School GPA 2.5

Completing Your Application File

After you have filled out the application form, to complete your application file, be sure to make arrangements to have additional documents sent directly to us.

Additional documentation:

Test scores can be sent from the testing service to Chaminade. Transcripts and school records should be sent to World Education Services (WES). WES is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing accurate and reliable evaluations of academic credentials earned outside of the U.S.

1. Apply for a WES evaluation.

The application for WES evaluation can be obtained from the WES website at www.wes.org or the Chaminade admissions office. There is a fee of $150 for this evaluation. The student makes payment for the evaluation directly to WES.

2. These documents should be sent to World Education Services:

  • Official records for at least the last four years of secondary school study and any university level or post-secondary school work that has been completed or attempted. These records must list all subjects taken, grades earned, or examination results in each subject, and all diplomas and certificates.
  • Transcripts from non-U.S. schools

3. Arrange to have your official test results sent to Chaminade:

  • If English is your first language, take either the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), or the ACT (American College Test) and have the results sent to us. For information: SAT: www.collegeboard.com. ACT: www.act.org
  • Non-Native Speakers of English: Instead of the tests listed above, take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and have the results sent to us. We require official TOEFL scores of at least 550 paper-based TOEFL or 213 computer-based TOEFL. The TOEFL is administered by CEEB or Educational Testing Service. Information on this test can be obtained by writing TOEFL, box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6165, USA, or at ets.org

Step 4. Check Your Application Status & Materials Received

You can conveniently check the status of your Chaminade application online in our web portal. You will be able to see when we receive your mailed items.

Your Web Portal login and password: When your completed application is received, you will be issued a Chaminade ID number. Use this 7-digit number for your login. You will receive this number in a letter from admissions, or call us and we will give it to you. (Note: use the last 4 digits of your social security number for your password.) » Web Portal
