International students are non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. Permanent Residents. You are eligible to apply to Chaminade University as an international student if you have completed the equivalent of a United States secondary (high school) education. You must provide official documents indicating your completion of education before enrolling at Chaminade University.

The recommended date to submit your application and documents is before May 1 for fall semester and by late fall for spring semester. However, this is the recommended time frame and not required; Chaminade University operates on a rolling admissions schedule. We accept students throughout the year and review applications within two business days of completion.
One exception is students who wish to apply to the School of Nursing. The School of Nursing only accepts applications for fall semesters, and requires all applicants to complete their application by February 1.

Translation of School Documents
All academic documents written in a foreign language must be submitted after English translation. Applicants must submit official documents to WES (World Education Services) for evaluation. Your translated documents will be sent directly to the admissions office once the evaluation is complete. Students must submit the WES application and $150 processing fee to WES for the translation services.

Official School Documents
Academic records must show the last four years of a studentís secondary school education and/or any university level or post-secondary school work that has been completed or attempted by the student. The records must indicate all subjects taken, the grades earned for each course (or examination results), and any diplomas or certificates received from the institution.
Documentation of Financial Support
International students and their families must assume financial responsibility for all student expenses while studying at Chaminade University. In order to complete the student visa, students must supply the university with a completed Confidential Financial Statement form and an official bank statement supporting the studentís ability to fund at least one full year of attendance at Chaminade University. Students should review our estimated cost of attendance before applying to Chaminade.
Students must submit full payment for tuition, room and board, and additional fees by the first day of class each semester. Students should verify government and bank regulations regarding sending money to the United States to ensure payments are received by the due date.
Chaminade University offers merit scholarships for qualified international applicants. Federal financial aid is not available for international students.
Issuing an F-1 Student Visa
Once a student is accepted to Chaminade University, we will issue a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) to allow the student to obtain a student visa. Students should keep copies of all documents regarding attendance at the university (sent and received) for the student visa process and entry into the United States.
Courses at Chaminade are taught in English, so students must have the ability to understand rapid, idiomatic English and express themselves clearly in written and spoken English.
Students whose first language is not English may take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to prove English proficiency. Students meeting Chaminadeís test requirements will be eligible for direct admission into the university.
