Are you of native Hawaiian ancestry? You may qualify for one of these generous four-year scholarships. You may also be eligible if you live on Hawaiian homelands, if you or your family belongs to a Hawaiian Civic Club, or you have graduated from a Hawaiian language immersion school.

Hawaiian Civic Club Scholarship

The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs Award is an institutional scholarship awarded to new first-year students or transfers. This generous award is renewed every year for a maximum of four years provided the student remains in good academic standing. Note: There are Hawaiian Civic Club Chapters in the mainland U.S as well as the Hawaiian Islands.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be:

  • A member or dependent of a member of a Hawaiian Civic Club.
  • Nominated by the Hawaiian Civic Club president (includes a letter or recommendation).
  • A United States citizen.
  • A high school graduate with a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 for first year students, or a prior college cumulative GPA of 2.50 for transfer students.
  • Accepted to Chaminade University as an unconditionally admitted day student.
  • Charged the maximum full-time day student tuition for the academic year.

Awardees must

  • Complete 20 hours of community service per academic semester (40 hours per year) while attending Chaminade.

Award Amount

This award is the value of one half of the full-time day tuition. Awards are credited against the recipient’s tuition charge and may be increased according to need. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA.


Hawaiian Homelands Scholarship

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Opportunity Award is an institutional scholarship awarded to new first-year students or transfers. This generous award is renewable for a maximum of four years provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Applicant must be:

  • A dependent of a current resident who holds a lease to a Hawaiian Home Lands property.
  • Nominated by their Hawaiian Homestead Association President (includes a letter or recommendation).
  • A United States citizen.
  • A high school graduate admitted to Chaminade as an unconditional or conditional first year student with a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.25, or, a prior college cumulative GPA of 2.50 for transfer students.
  • Charged the maximum day-student tuition for the academic year.

Awardees must

  • Complete 20 hours of community service per academic semester (40 hours per year) while attending Chaminade.

Hawaiian-focused Charter Schools Scholarship

The Hawaiian-focused Charter Schools Scholarship is an institutional scholarship awarded to new first-year students or transfers who graduated from a Hawaiian-focused Charter School . This generous award is renewable for a maximum of four years provided the student remains in good academic standing.

  • Accepted to Chaminade as a First Year or transfer student.

Hawaiian Language Immersion School Scholarship

The Hawaiian Language Immersion School Scholarship is an institutional scholarship awarded to new first-year students or transfers. Students must be nominated by their immersion school principal. This generous award is renewable for a maximum of four years provided the student remains in good academic standing.
