As a Native Hawaiian serving institution, we are proud to offer scholarships to new, incoming students of Native Hawaiian ancestry.  All Native Hawaiian Scholarships are renewable for a maximum of four years.

Office of Native Hawaiian Partnerships Merit Award
Available for 2015-2016 Enrollment
(Enrollment in classes beginning August 2015 and thereafter)

Award Value: One-half (50%) of the full-time day undergraduate tuition

Eligibility Requirements:

  • New incoming first-year or transfer student.
  • Students of Hawaiian descent who are U.S. citizens, residing in Hawai’i, the U.S. continent or U.S. Territories.
  • A high school graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and SAT score of at least 920 or ACT 19 for new, first-year students. Or, prior college cumulative GPA of 2.50 for transfer students.
  • Accepted to Chaminade as a regular full-time, day undergraduate.
  • Complete twenty (20) hours of community service each semester. Prior approval for community service activities from the Office of Native Hawaiian Partnership is required.

Deadline:
The application, one-page resume and letter of recommendation must be received by July 1 for fall applicants and December 1 for spring applicants.

Educational Opportunity Awards

The Department of Hawaiian Homelands Student Educational Opportunity Grant is offered to current residents or dependents of current residents who hold a lease to a Hawaiian Homelands property. Proof of current residency is required.
The Na Lei Na`auao Charter School Student Educational Opportunity Grant is offered to seniors and graduates of any of the Na Lei Na`auao charter schools. Proof of attendance or graduation is required.
The Kula Kaiapuni Student Educational Opportunity Grant is offered to seniors and graduates of Kula Kaiapuni, or Hawaiian Language Immersion schools. Proof of attendance or graduation is required

Award Values: $1,500 per year (may be combined with a student’s merit-based grant or scholarship)
