50% Tuition Nursing Scholarship for Kamehameha Graduates

Chaminade Nursing Scholarships for Kamehameha Schools Graduates are awarded to new, first-year nursing majors who have graduated from one of the three Kamehameha campuses. The award amount is 50% of nursing tuition and is awarded each year of the student's attendance at the Chaminade School of Nursing.

Applicants please note:
Apply to the Chaminade School of Nursing while you are in high school to be eligible for this award. Our nursing program is a four-year, full-time degree program. Scholarships are limited; see table below.

Requirements

Applicant must:

Be a Hawaii resident
Will graduate from one of the Kamehameha Schools
Has applied to and been accepted by the Chaminade School of Nursing
Has a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.25
Has an SAT score of at least 1050 (verbal and mathematics) or an ACT of 23
Has completed one year of high school chemistry (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better (a requirement for admission to the School of Nursing)
Has completed Algebra II (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better (a requirement for admission to the School of Nursing)
Must submit a 1-page personal essay and (minimum) two letters of recommendation (a requirement for admission to the School of Nursing)

If awarded the scholarship, to maintain the scholarship, the student must:

Complete 20 hours of community service per academic semester
Be charged the maximum tuition for the academic year (i.e., the student takes a full course load)
Maintain good academic standing

Award Amount

This award is the value of one-half of the full-time nursing tuition. Awards are credited against the recipient's tuition charge.
