The Honolulu city bus system "The Bus" is consistently ranked as one of the best in the country for safety and reliability. As a Chaminade student, be sure to pick up your free bus pass at the beginning of the semester from the business office and you'll be able to get around the island fairly easily at no cost to you. A main bus stop is located at the front of the Chaminade campus along Waialae Avenue. Both the #1 and #9 stop at the entrance to campus, providing service from Kahala to Kalihi and major transfer points.

Liveability: Honolulu is a great place to live if you are looking for a close-knit community with all the conveniences of a large city. Honolulu has arts and entertainment, malls, and shopping opportunities similar to many large U.S. cities. For food, expect to find local food and international cuisines as well as familiar fast food chains and traditional American options.
Organized activities: If you live on-campus, many activities and outings are organized through Residential Life throughout the year. Residential Life activities provide great social opportunities for residents and introduce newcomers to the island culture. Student Support Services, Campus Ministry and many of the student organizations also host a variety of on and off campus activities.
