Tuition with Freshman Merit Awards

Tuition amounts are greatly reduced with good high school grades. Chaminade merit scholarships are awarded every year for four years and are automatically granted to accepted incoming freshman students (no additional requirements or paperwork.) These awards are not based on need. Hawaii awards are for Hawaii residents graduating from a high school in the state. Non-Hawaii awards apply to all others, including international students. Please note, additional award monies are granted if need is determined. See more info.

Transfer Grant

The criteria for a transfer grant is a GPA from your previous college of at least 2.50 and admission to the university. Amount: $4,000 per year. See more info.

Need Aid

Freshman coming to Chaminade this year are receiving an average of over $7000 in Chaminade grants and scholarships per student. If you demonstrate financial need you may be eligible to receive Chaminade need-based institutional aid. This is aid from Chaminade, not government aid. Step 1 to receive institutional aid is to fill out a FAFSA, then we can tell how much you qualify for. To file, go to www.fafsa.edu.gov. Our school code is 001605.

Figuring in Financial Aid

97% of our students receive some form of financial aid. There are many forms of Federal financial aid, and Chaminade also provides need-based aid. Remember, you will need to file a FAFSA in order to receive aid!

Much more information on financial aid can be found in our financial aid section.

Tuition Payment Plan

A tuition payment plan makes life much easier. Without this plan, your tuition will be due twice a year in two large semester tuition payments, due at the beginning of the semester. With the plan, you can schedule monthly tuition payments. There are several payment options available, plus you can have an automatic tuition payment scheduled as a debit from your bank account. There is a fee.

We have made arrangements with Tuition Management Systems, a division of Keybank, to offer this service. This is offered for the full-time undergraduate program only (and cannot be used for summer term courses.)

Once you know you have been accepted to Chaminade, it is wise to enroll early in the tuition payment plan, since a popular option to pay is to schedule monthly payments from July thru April (for a fall enrollment.)

The nursing program is in development and pending approval by the Hawaii State Board of Nursing in spring 2010, with an anticipated start in the fall of 2010.
