Associate Provost Lee-Robinson Receives Honorary Degree from A.T. Still University

In recognition of her efforts to forge a partnership with A.T. Still University (ATSU), the institution recently presented an honorary Doctor of Osteopathic Education degree to Associate Provost Patricia Lee-Robinson, director of Chaminade University’s Office of Health Professions Advising and Undergraduate Research (OHPAUR).

Lee-Robinson developed and implemented articulation agreements permitting early admission to ATSU medical programs for qualified Chaminade students. ATSU colleges in Arizona and Missouri offer doctorate degrees in osteopathic medicine, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and dentistry.

“Not only have you served as a nationally recognized health professions educator promoting quality in education,” ATSU Dean Margaret Wilson wrote in announcing Lee-Robinson’s honorary degree, “you have served as a great role model of compassion and integrity, reflective of the values of both Chaminade and ATSU.”

When receiving her honorary degree at ATSU’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, Lee-Robinson praised “the strong collaboration between two universities that share a common mission,” noting that “the family spirit of ATSU mirrors that of Chaminade so closely.”

Chaminade President Bernard Ploeger, SM, congratulated Lee-Robinson on the honor, emphasizing that her “dedicated leadership of the office significantly expands academic and professional opportunities for Chaminade graduates admitted to ATSU and numerous other universities across the nation.”

The Office of Health Professions Advising and Undergraduate Reserach (OHPAUR) assists students interested in healthcare careers, regardless of their major. Services include: advising, test preparation, summer programs, guest speaker presentations, professional seminars, community service activities and internship/shadowing opportunities. OHPAUR also maintains articulation agreements with two ATSU campuses, as well as Boston University School of Medicine, George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Pacific University, Samuel Merritt University, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, University of Dayton and Western University School of Health Sciences.
