Advisors in the Office of Retention, Advising & Career Preparation (RACP) assist Chaminade students and alumni in developing the skills necessary to lead successful careers. Career advisors maintain partnerships with academic departments, agencies and employers to provide career development opportunities for students. RACP also offers resources for students and alumni to conduct an effective job search, communicate their transferrable skills, and connect with employers.
Student employment is offered through specific offices, centers and departments, and student work may take place on or off campus. Registered students can access online postings at the Students link above. The hiring process is managed by Personnel Services and the Business Office. Off campus employers may also seek potential candidates for employment from Chaminade's pool of talent. Employers may post positions online and also attend campus events to connect qualified students and alumni with jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities. The Office of Retention, Advising & Career Preparation (RACP) will assist in building a rich and rewarding experience for Chaminade students, alumni and their 'ohana. Advisors participate in campus events and are also available to lead workshops, provide resources and share career information in classes and in the community.
To assist in developing a better understanding of students' career development, RACP conducts a bi-annual survey of graduating students. This online survey is implemented during the month prior to commencement. More information can be found by clicking the Alumni or Faculty & Staff link above.
RACP staff will support all Chaminade students and degreed alumni who request assistance in their job application process. This may include:
Every semester, Career Preparation staff host a career event on campus open to all Chaminade students and alumni. The Fall Job Fair is typically held in mid-October and the Spring Career Fair is typically held in early March. The IN*VO Fair held in September offers students access to opportunities that will amplify their career skills, such as: Internships, Volunteer & Educational opportunities, such as Study Abroad. Staff also support department events, such as the Criminal Justice Expo. All events are listed in Symplicity, the online Chaminade Career Services Manager.
Club Delta at Chaminade University of Honolulu is comprised of academically successful student members who are committed to developing their career skills while giving back to the community. A staff member from the Office of Retention, Advising & Career Preparation serves in an advisory role to the student-run organization.
In mathematics, delta is the symbol for change. In Club Delta, active members will develop through workshops, participation in career events, networking, and community service. Students may join the organization at Club Fest each semester, or by contacting the officers via the Office of Student Activities & Leadership.
