The Environmental + Interior Design program is seeking a REVIT-proficient individual to teach EID 319 Advanced CAD-Intro to Revit. Candidate must be an excellent communicator with experience using AutoDesk products and Revit, in particular. Understanding of construction documentation is required. ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

Under the direction of the Director of Student Activities and Leadership (OSAL), the Activities Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and coordination of student programs focused on wellness including but not limited to healthy living, fitness, nutrition, stress management, substance use/abuse, sexual health, and other aspects of wellness that enhance student life at the university. The Activities Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating the recreational sports/intramural program. The position supervises student workers who support the recreational sports/intramural program and Student Office Assistants working in the Vi & Paul Loo Student Center. The Activities Coordinator also assists the Director of OSAL with various programs sponsored by the office and the Division of Student Affairs to support the university’s overall retention and engagement goals.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education or Counseling from an accredited institution is preferred.

ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (SCHOOL OF NURSING)

Chaminade University of Honolulu is currently seeking Assistant Professors for two employment opportunities in the School of Nursing program.  This non-tenure Assistant Professor in nursing position at Chaminade University of Honolulu reports to the Dean, School of Nursing.  The responsibilities of this position comprise teaching courses in the undergraduate program.  As a faculty member, the Assistant Professor is expected to actively participate in the scholarship of teaching, community service, and the process of curriculum assessment, development, implementation, evaluation and accreditation.

Minimum Education: 

  • RN licensure in the State of Hawaii. 
  • An earned Masters in Nursing (MSN).

Minimum Experience:

  • Teaching experience using a variety of modalities in the classroom, simulation, online, continuing education, and clinical practice (in a School of Nursing).
  • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students.
  • Competency in the scholarship of teaching and ongoing professional development in nursing education.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CRIMINOLOGY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT

The responsibilities of this position comprise of teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program.  This successful candidate teaching duties will be focused primarily within the Masters of Criminal Justice Administration and Forensic Laboratory Management degree.  As a faculty member, the Assistant Professor is expected to participate actively in curriculum development and assessment, to advise students, serve on university and area committees, perform all duties professionally and ethically, and support the policies and mission of the University. In addition, the Assistant Professor is required to contribute and produce scholarship and continue professional development as a faculty member.

Education:

  • Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Criminology, Sociology, or the Behavioral Sciences required. 
  • A Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Criminal Justice or Forensic Science is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant law enforcement experience.
  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs and Google applications; ability to use copy machine, fax machine, telephone. 
  • Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, climb a lot of stairs, have excellent motor skills and be able to sit or stand for 30 minutes at a time.  Must have finger dexterity.  

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

The Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for recruiting and activities related to the increase of enrollment for the day undergraduate program, and holds supervisory and management responsibilities. The duties associated with this position may require the Associate Director to work up to 55 hours per week during recruiting trips, fairs, on and off-campus enrollment functions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.  

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work with and relate to diverse groups of people as well as being able to speak in front of groups.

FINANCIAL AID COUNSELOR

This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid and has a primary work emphasis that involves providing information to students about the financial aid process.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5 plus years of experience in student financial aid administration. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written fashion.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and be able to complete a variety of simultaneous activities.
  • Skilled in computer and word processing techniques.

INSTUCTIONAL DESIGNER

The Instructional Designer of the Faculty Center provides instructional design expertise to support innovative course delivery including the development, structuring and editing of learning materials and assessment tools to help create and manage course improvement, using faculty development as a foundation to implement new teaching and assessment methodologies.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, education administration or a related field from an accredited university.

Experience and Skills:

  • At least one year experience working in a Center for Teaching & Learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with faculty.
  • Ability and skills to work collaboratively with faculty members.
  • Experience in building productive relationships to support program.
  • Experience in the design of instructional materials, interactive experiences and assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience within a learning management system (Canvas preferred).
  • Excellent working knowledge of computers; strong communication skills – written and oral.
  • Group facilitation skills a must. 
  • Knowledge of various computer tools, programs and software including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Screencast, social media, assessment. 
  • Experience working with Pacific Islander, Asian American, and local Hawaii students highly preferred.

JUDICIAL AFFAIRS OFFICER

The Judicial Affairs Officer investigates and handles all student code of conduct violations that occur outside of the residence halls.  This position serves as secondary, appeals level of the disciplinary process on all violations of the student code of conduct occurring within and outside of the residence halls.  The Judicial Affairs Officer also trains the residential life staff in proper investigation and report writing and works together with the Director of Residential Life and the Dean of Students to create Residential Life and Student Code of Conduct policies and procedures.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.   Preferably a Master’s degree in student affairs, law, higher education administration, education, counseling, social sciences, or a field relevant to the position.

Minimum Experience:

  • The equivalent of two years of experience in judicial affairs. Preferably in student judicial affairs and legal procedures.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with the methods, materials, practices, procedures, techniques and concepts related to: advising, interpersonal counseling, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy provision to situations consistently as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems, draw-up valid conclusions, and develop other alternatives.

MARKETING SPECIALIST

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding marketing collateral in Chaminade University’s Enrollment Management Department.  Specializing in prospective student messaging, this position identifies and develops assets for website, email, social media and print campaigns that support recruiting objectives as directed by the Director of Marketing Communications.   Tasks require a strong attention to detail, creative vision, understanding of marketing practices and the ability to work under tight deadlines. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.  Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field highly desired.

Minimum Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of online communications projects; photography/design projects, and implementation of social media initiatives.
  • Understanding of information architecture and website design best practices.
  • Ability to understand and review analytics in website traffic, social media and email.

Technical Skills:

  • Website development: Competence with content management systems for website development—WordPress preferred.
  • Email: Understanding of email best practices and guidelines.  Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Social Media: Demonstrated experience with established social media networks, and the ability to adopt/adapt emerging trends within the industry.

TECHNICIAN

This position reports to the Director of Client Services and is responsible for providing walk-in technology services and AV equipment support/operation for on/off campus activities to the Chaminade community.  The Technician coordinates with other members of Information Technologies and Support to maximize the efficiency and availability of services offered, including access to educational technology in classrooms, to online education, and to administrative functions inherent in the ERP.  Also performs non walk-in services when time is available.

Minimum Education / Experience:

  • An associate degree form an accredited institution or 3 years customer service experience in an educational environment. 
  • Experience providing assistance to students, faculty and staff in a research or educational institution.

General:

  • Requires a high degree of technical competence along with the ability to interact positively with students, faculty and staff who possess a wide range of educational backgrounds and technical competence.
  • Strong communications and diplomatic skills are essential, along with discretion when working with sensitive information. 
  • Excellent English language skills and customer-oriented a must.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include weekend and evening hours.

Technical Skills:

  • Broad knowledge of technology.
