Mike HerbMike Herb has an MBA in Marketing from Harvard Business School. He has years of experience in consulting, financial planning, networking, and business plan reviewing. Mike’s business background includes IBM, Louvau Systems, Prescolite, Alexander and Baldwin, Morgan Stanley, and Dean Witter. He is District Director of SCORE Hawaii, which provides free and confidential business advice and counseling to start-up and in-business entrepreneurs.

Rob KayRob Kay is a writer and public relations practitioner with 30+ years experience in Hawaii and the Mainland. Rob has worked with all the major local and mainland press including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune & many others. He is the founder of Pac-Tech Communications, a boutique public relations firm with offices in both Hawaii and California. An experienced travel writer, he has also written books on Fiji and Tahiti for the Lonely Planet series.

Bob KihuneBob Kihune is the former Executive Director of the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority in Kona, Hawaii and was a Trustee of the Kamehameha Schools. He is a retired Vice Admiral who served 35 years in the U.S. Navy and who commanded many ships including the all famous USS Kitty Hawk Aircraft Carrier Battle Group. He currently serves as CEO of Sandwich Isles Communication, Inc., which provides telecommunications services to Hawaiian Home Lands (HHL) communities and commercial properties located on HHL.

Pat BustamantePat Bustamante is the former President and C.O.O. of Pacific LightNet (PLNI). Under his leadership, PLNI turned to a cash flow positive company and was the first company to provide Voice over IP service in the state. Successful acquisition of Hawaii businesses provided PLNI’s entry into the wireless ISP business in Hawaii. Prior to PLNI, Pat held several positions at Time Warner Telecom in New Mexico. He is currently with TDM, LLC as a Management Consultant.

Russel ChengRussel Cheng is a career entrepreneur with diverse international experiences. He is currently a co-founder of the ebook startup Readerie and an advisor to sports marketing startup Engage Stage. He is the founder of StartupHui, a startup incubator designed to help jumpstart first-time entrepreneurs get their Internet companies launched and funded. Russel spent 16 years living in Japan and Asia prior to coming home to Hawai‘i.

Primary areas of interest and expertise: Entrepreneurship, startups, creative mentoring, fundraising, product development, web and mobile applications, Ecommerce, business development, marketing, Japan, China, and Asia.

Career highlights include: Co-founder of XM Asia, in 1995 establishing Asia’s first interactive agency later acquired by advertising network WPP Group. He was also the founder of Organic Asia, which had a successful Nasdaq IPO in 2000, now owned by advertising network Omnicom Group. He was awarded a Cannes Gold Lion, the advertising industry’s top creative award, for his mobile application related to P&G, which is amongst many of his other achievements.
