The next issue of Service News Worldwide could feature a service program that you send to Innovations in Civic Participation (ICP)! Founded in 2001, ICP is a non-profit social change organization that provides expertise, ideas, information, research, and advocacy support in the United States and around the world to develop and strengthen policies and programs that promote civic engagement through service.
Contribute to the World Development Report
The World Development Report (WDR) is a World Bank publication that examines the state of the world from a different angle and is published yearly. It's one of the most influential publications about development. The next WDR will focus on young people (ages 12-24) and their contribution to developing their countries. The World Bank is currently seeking input. This is an important opportunity to tell them about the power of youth service!
ICP is encouraging the service community to contribute to the discussion and to encourage other people and networks with an interest in youth service to contribute as well. It would be especially powerful if young people themselves could tell about their involvement in youth service. If there are enough responses, ICP will collect the information and produce a short publication on the topic.
Please be sure to let us know if you contribute to the WDR (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
