Economics and Personal Finance for K-12 Educators Spring 2024 Workshop (Hybrid)
Date and Time: January 8 — April 28, 2024
Format: Hybrid with two in-person sessions on Saturdays, January 20 and April 27, 2024, respectively. We will alternate the meeting locations between Kona and Hilo on the Big Island.
This course prepares K-12 educators to teach economics and personal finance at their respective grade levels. No previous knowledge about economics nor personal finance is required. Participants will gain a better understanding of economics and personal finance, and will learn ways to effectively implement the Hawai’i K-12 Social Studies Common Core standards with innovative and interactive lessons plans. This course also provides participants with teaching resources, including ready-to-adopt lesson plans and one-on-one assistance in adopting and adapting lesson plans for specific grade levels.
